06:20:49 From bart.boswinkel : NomCom Appointees are funded through the ICANN policy which is overarching to the ccNSO Guideline
06:22:07 From bart.boswinkel : Effectively the ccNSO guideline is an implementation of the Travel Funding policy
06:23:01 From bart.boswinkel : That is my inerpretation
06:23:09 From dmcauley : Bart, does that mean that if there is a budget cutback then NomCom folks will effectively get priority of sorts
06:23:41 From bart.boswinkel : If you want to change that you need to change travel funding policy
06:23:45 From Stephen Deerhake : Very good point David.
06:27:02 From Kristina Hakobyan : Yes. Is there any information of priority to be given to the applicants depending on the location of the meeting in the travel funding guideline?
06:27:47 From Kristina Hakobyan : ok, thank you
06:31:44 From Stephen Deerhake : David, take us out of the wilderness please! ;-)
06:32:17 From Stephen Deerhake : GREAT IDEA DAVID!!! Thank you for stepping up to do this!
06:33:07 From dmcauley : OK Thanks Bart - my mistake - still happy to take a look
06:33:22 From Stephen Deerhake : Bart, where is the ICANN Travel Policy to be found on the ICANN Website?
06:33:50 From dmcauley : good question by Stephen - we can all take a look and then see if new EC gives us wiggle room in any way
06:36:11 From Stephen Deerhake : Me too David! If it's not in Annex D. why does it matter! ;-)
06:37:48 From bart.boswinkel : https://www.icann.org/resources/pages/travel-support-2012-02-25-en#guidelines
06:37:52 From Joke Braeken : :)
06:37:57 From dmcauley : Thanks Bart
06:38:01 From bart.boswinkel : This is documentation round general travel funding
06:38:05 From Stephen Deerhake : Thank you Bart.
06:39:07 From bart.boswinkel : This is one of the issues that will come up in the internal guidelines
06:39:10 From bart.boswinkel : anyway
06:40:34 From Stephen Deerhake : Sounds like a plan, Bart.
06:43:14 From dmcauley : The labors of Sisyphus
06:46:40 From Katrina : that was not my idea, actually :)
06:46:46 From Katrina : I think it was Bart's
06:48:55 From bart.boswinkel : As Example of travel funding for NomCom appointees see latest call for volunteers and the following section: These positions require regular participation in teleconferences and may involve significant international travel, including travel to ICANN's three annual Public Meetings. Meetings during 2018 will be held in San Juan, Puerto Rico (10–15 March); Panama City, Panama (25–28 June); and Barcelona, Spain (20–26 October).

Reasonable direct expenses incurred in the course of service will be reimbursed.
06:49:19 From bart.boswinkel : See: https://www.icann.org/nomcom2018
06:50:23 From dmcauley : I like the wiki page idea as well - for updating reasons
06:50:38 From dmcauley : and like one glossary - on a wiki page
06:51:05 From dmcauley : Agree as well on clean document
06:52:51 From bart.boswinkel : And from, the invitation see: https://www.icann.org/resources/pages/nomcom2018-invitation
06:53:14 From bart.boswinkel : Those who hold leadership positions with the ALAC, ccNSO Council and GNSO Council serve without compensation but can receive travel expense reimbursement where authorized and where resources have been allocated within the ICANN budget.
07:00:57 From dmcauley : Sounds like a good plan
07:03:55 From Stephen Deerhake : Thank you David, for your support on the way forward.
