10) Proposed Goals and Outcomes:

Content Guidelines (click here)

The primary objectives of the APRALO Leadership Team’s participation at the APRICOT 2018 meeting are:

-        Exploring the opportunity  for regional cooperation and collaboration with regional organizations including APNIC, APTLD, ISOC and APSIG

-        Providing outreach services for increasing awareness on APRALO/ICANN, leading to the formation of ALSes in underserved regions

-        Interacting with other regional and sub-regional organizations and technical community representatives to consider joint programmes in domains such as technical outreach and capacity building

Participate in discussions on the state of the Internet in the APAC Region, and address the challenges and opportunities in bringing in the next Billion from the region.

Proposed Outcomes:

1. Opportunity to update the technical community about APRALO and ALAC activities and strategic objectives

2. Raised awareness of APRALO and its activities and involvements among other regional groups (making use of networking opportunities)

3. Increased networking links for the APRALO Leadership team and learning more about the work and activities of APNIC as well as other members of the regional technical community.

4. Opportunity to meet with other APRICOT women (at the Tech Girls Social) to introduce APRALO and to promote our work in the region (Maureen, Lianna)

5. A Leadership strategic planning session for FY18 to include further technical collaboration, as well as capacity building and outreach activities for FY18 and the APRALO Mentorship Programme Round 2.

6. A report to APRALO and CROP recording important interventions, interactions and feedback during our networking sessions during the week.

11) Additional Information (optional):

The following attendance plan is made on the tentative program schedule available at this time. In addition to these, Lianna, Ali and Maureen will be attending all public forums and socials for networking and outreach.

During the Global IGF in Geneva which was attended by Maureen, Satish, Lianna and Ali, we made initial personal contact with the local organisers (ALS members) and they have since been in contact regarding their investigating opportunities for an APRALO booth and speaking slots in the APRICOT programme.  We have been proactive in seeking involvements that will raise the profile of APRALO (and At-Large) within the region.

Prior to the APRICOT conference, Maureen will attend a DotAsia Board meeting and AGM, plus the AP* meeting at which one of the Vice Chairs will present an APRALO report.

Prior to the APRICOT conference, Lianna will attend the APTLD 73 meeting to give an update on APRALO activity.
