  1. We did not see the need to comment at the time that this PIR request was being considered (https://community.icann.org/x/er7hAg) and I see no reason to comment now that it has been approved.

    I do find it somewhat shameful that for years ICANN and leading technical folks claimed that synchronized TLDs (such as multiple languages or variants or IDN/Latin pairs) were not supported by the DNS and could not be made to work reliably without the sky falling, but now, upon investigation, we have found out that this was patently false, as this request has demonstrated.
