00:38:27    David Mackey:    First Past the Post (FPTP), or Ranked Ballot? I assumed the ALAC vote would be FPTP
00:38:32    Bill Jouris:    Found the Survey.  Thanks, Greg!

00:40:39    Adrian Schmidt:    Please email staff@atlarge.icann.org and copy me please I want to get a record of issues for debriefing the process. (Cc: adrianicann@gmail.com) Thanks!!!
00:40:41    Heidi Ullrich - ICANN Org:    The NARALO Chair can be a tie breaker, I believe.
00:41:13    Eduardo Díaz:    That is a good way of doing it
00:41:14    David Mackey:    Single Transferable Vote info — https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Single_transferable_vote
00:41:25    Judith Hellerstein:    Yes @Alan Greenberg (ALAC) that is correct
00:41:46    Judith Hellerstein:    The individuals have their own tally
00:42:17    Silvia Vivanco - ICANN Org:    @Alfredo Calderon  NARALO has a rule on ties 6.5.2 In the event of a tie vote for the Chair or Secretariat position, the determination of
the winner shall be made by a secret ballot of three (3) NARALO individuals. The three
individuals shall be selected from the current occupants of the following positions, in
order (excluding the tied candidates): the three current ALAC Members, the Chair, and
the Secretariat. To the extent that three (3) individuals who meet these requirements are
not available, the At-Large Staff shall oversee a selection by random from between the
tied candidates
00:42:21    Heidi Ullrich - ICANN Org:    The Individual Rep will take the results of the individuals.
00:42:38    Heidi Ullrich - ICANN Org:    Alan will then vote in the ALS vote for the individuals.
00:43:06    Heidi Ullrich - ICANN Org:    The individual vote closes on 23 May while the main election closes on 24 May
00:45:20    Jonathan Zuck:    Ha ha! Not stellar!
00:47:00    avri doria:    though I believe that each group does have the option on bringing in an external reviewer if desired.
00:53:00    David Mackey:    in addition to the CIP slides we’re viewing right now, does someone have a link that can be shared for reviewing the CIP process later?
00:55:42    Bill Jouris:    I, too, would like to hear others' thoughts first
00:56:04    Jonathan Zuck:    ALAC has it's own CIP
00:56:25    Jonathan Zuck:    I think we'll need some coordination between the two to come up with something a little more holistic.
00:56:49    David Mackey:    thx Jonathan
00:57:01    David Mackey:    agree on need for coordination
00:57:06    Eduardo Díaz:    From NARALO Rules and Procedures: The primary purposes of NARALO are to promote and assure participation by North
American users in the ICANN policy development process and to channel and facilitate
recommendations and advice to ICANN and its constituent bodies, in accordance with
NARALO’s MOU with ICANN.
00:57:58    Denise Hochbaum:    Reacted to "From NARALO Rules an..." with
00:58:32    Eduardo Díaz:    The purpose of each RALO should be the same no matter the region.

00:59:09    Denise Hochbaum:    Reacted to "The purpose of each ..." with
01:01:21    Bill Jouris:    One of the things the overall CIP groups is looking at is what metrics should be defined (for ALAC).  And how exactly we measure for those metrics
01:01:52    David Mackey:    +1 Jonathan
01:03:09    Bill Jouris:    It's not so much the RALOs that are orthogonal to ICANN/ALAC, ans the ALSs are
01:04:25    Judith Hellerstein:    I thought we were and advisory council
01:04:26    David Mackey:    +1 Alan, good question
01:06:52    Greg Shatan:    @Judith, ALAC is an advisory council, but we are not.
01:07:13    Judith Hellerstein:    But then none of the principles apply to us if we are not an ac
01:07:19    Alan Greenberg (ALAC):    Can we go back to #7 please
01:07:30    Michelle DeSmyter - ICANN Org:    Time check - 7 minutes left
01:08:02    Eduardo Díaz:    We need to know what is the RALO purpose and start from there.
01:08:03    Greg Shatan:    We are a constituent part of an AC organization...
01:08:24    Judith Hellerstein:    Yes so either all apply to us or none of them apply to us
01:10:07    Bill Jouris:    Not necessarily
01:10:51    David Mackey:    Tere
01:12:06    David Mackey:    There’s also a question of how ICANN Bylaw Mission 1.a.i “bottom up” applies to the process. No need to discuss in the NARALO monthly call
01:12:23    Jonathan Zuck:    I think they all apply, frankly
01:12:28    David Mackey:    Reacted to "I think they all app..." with
01:13:01    David Mackey:    The CIP process is working already!!
01:13:07    Judith Hellerstein:    +1 Greg exactly
01:14:16    Kathleen Scoggin (she/her):    I will put my name in for that group as well for those tracking!
01:14:31    Silvia Vivanco - ICANN Org:    Thanks Kathleen
01:14:54    Silvia Vivanco - ICANN Org:    AI: GS and Adrian will create a small WG for O/E FY25
01:15:05    Silvia Vivanco - ICANN Org:    Please share your ALS updates
01:15:15    Eduardo Díaz:    Are there plans to write a report on the results from the FY24 O&E plan?
01:15:30    Silvia Vivanco - ICANN Org:    Please join the NARALO UA Day ! On Wed 15
01:15:38    David Mackey:    Thanks all
