Trip/Event Assessment Form

LINK:  AFRALO Trip Proposal 5

1) Describe the Trip/Event in sufficient detail
that an interested reader could understand Who,
What, When, Where, and Why concerning this
funded CROPP activity (please be as expansive
as possible):

This CROPP allowed me to attend the AFRINIC-26 meeting in Nairobi, Kenya on 31st May 2017.

During the three days of this event, I met the AFRALO representatives and many other people from the AFRALO under-represented areas like Gabon, Guinea, Tchad, Niger, Congo Brazzaville, Congo Kinshasa.

With some of AFRALO members present in Nairobi, we shared best practices on their ALS activities.

With some under-represented areas participants, we discussed and the Afralo's flyer were handed over to them. Most of them understood well the role and the mission of ICANN, it structure and the place of AFRALO within the ICANN ecosystem. So this trip allows me to contribute in broadening awareness of AFRALO. Some of them promised to apply to the upcoming ICANN fellowship programs.

Shortly and very probably the AFRALO community will increase  more and more.

2) Explain the extent to which the Proposed
Goals and Outcomes were accomplished
(see above LINK to review the original Proposal):

All is said  above in section 1)

During the event, time to time I stood on the AFRALO booth to assist distributing the AFRALO flyers.

3) Additional information pertaining
to this outreach Trip/Event (optional):
During the event, time to time I walked into some workshop sessions and plenary to participate in discussions and debates on Internet stuffs in Africa.
4) Date Completed:01-Sep-2017
