Organizational reviews are mandated in ICANN Bylaws to take place every five years across all supporting organizations and advisory committees (SO/ACs), and the Nominating Committee, and are conducted to examine (i) whether that organization, council or committee has a continuing purpose in the ICANN structure, (ii) if so, whether any change in structure or operations is desirable to improve its effectiveness and (iii) whether that organization, council or committee is accountable to its constituencies, stakeholder groups, organizations and other stakeholders.
The second review of the Nominating Committee began on 6 June 2017.
The Review Phase ended on 5 June 2018 with the publication of the independent examiner's final report.
The Implementation Planning Phase will continue until the review working party's completion and delivery of the feasibility assessment and initial implementation plan, expected in the late 2018/early 2019 timeframe.
