This objection ground allows formal objections to be filed by parties with standing if there is substantial opposition to the gTLD application from a significant portion of the community to which the gTLD string may be explicitly or implicitly targeted.

Formal comments to ICANN's application comment forum during the Application Comment Period (June 13 2012 to August 12 2012) directed to this panel will be considered as part of the application's evaluations.

Any formal comment directed at an evaluation panel regarding an applicant to an gTLD application must have the following:

  • Subject of your comment. The subject field has a limit of 40 characters.
  • Comment and Rationale. The actual comment has a limit of 3,500 characters.

Comments directed to the evaluation panels should:

  • Be directed to the relevant evaluation panel (e.g., an application comment directed to the Financial Capability evaluation panel should cover topics relevant to application questions 45--50). If your comment is irrelevant to the reviews performed by the panel to which it is directed, it will not be considered.
  • Provide rationale for relevancy to selected panel's evaluations
  • Be as factual as possible
  • Include sources or references if available

Comments can be submitted in any language. Right--to--left scripts will be disiplayed left--aligned in the comment field.

ICANN reserves the right to remove comments that do not adhere to ICANN Expected Standards of Behavior and ICANN's Open Comment Forum Process and Standards.
