Organizational reviews are mandated in ICANN Bylaws to take place every five years across all supporting organizations and advisory committees (SO/ACs), and the Nominating Committee (NomCom), and are conducted to examine (i) whether that organization, council or committee has a continuing purpose in the ICANN structure, (ii) if so, whether any change in structure or operations is desirable to improve its effectiveness and (iii) whether that organization, council or committee is accountable to its constituencies, stakeholder groups, organizations and other stakeholders.

The second Nominating Committee Organizational Review began on 7 June 2017. See the announcement here.

The Review Phase concluded on 5 June 2018 with the publication of the independent examiner's final report.

The Implementation Planning Phase continued until the implementation planning team's completion and delivery of the feasibility assessment and initial implementation plan on 14 December 2018.
