The Humanist Union is an independent civil rights organization. Since our founding in 1961, we are committed to the protection and enforcement of human and civil rights. The focus is for us the respect of human dignity. We are committed to the right to free development of personality and oppose any unreasonable restriction of that right by government, business or churches.
Greatest possible realization of human rights and freedom is unconditional.  Such as democracy, rule of law and the recognition of social diversity.
Democratic participation must also be beyond political parties and elections to be guaranteed. It is not enough if rights exist only on paper.  In a pluralistic society must also be possible radical opinions.
