Trip Assessment Form

1) Describe how the original Purpose and Goals were accomplished:

The President of ARIN made mention of the MoU struck with and pointed me out during his opening address.

A significant (IMO) proportion of the ARIN audience was not aware of the role played by At-Large within ICANN and the greater world of Internet Governance. I was able to engage with numerous ARIN participants to indicate some of the activities of NARALO within ICANN, as well as to witness myself a method of multi-stakeholderism which operates very differently to ICANN's.

2) Describe how the original Outcomes were achieved:

Basically, "working the audience", engaging in conversation when approached and at social gatherings,

Presently ARIN is most occupied with the depletion of IPv4 IP addresses, the promotion of IPv6, and the ongoing evolution of policies regarding transfers of ownership of IP address blocks. These issues, while generally understood by most ALAC members, have not of late been seen as strategically important.

3) Date Completed:10-Jun-2015
4) Additional information pertaining to this outreach event (optional):ICANN is not the only existing demonstration of multi-stakeholderism.  It is valuable for senior ICANN community members occasionally examine other participation models for consideration.
