Resumen de la llamada 24-abril / Summary of the April 24 call

El grupo de gobernanza se juntó por teléfono y Webex el 24-abril. Estuvieron presentes: Sergio Salinas Porto, Harold Arcos, Aida Noblia, Alberto Soto, Maritza Aguero, Vanda Scartezini, Humberto Carrasco, Antonio Medina Gomez, Dev Anand Teelucksingh, Jacqueline Morris, y Carlton Samuels, junto con staff de ICANN y David Plumb como moderador. La reunión tenía la siguiente agenda:

— Traduciendo perspectivas en acciones y Principios Operativos revisados 

El grupo llegó a las siguientes conclusiones:

Miembros individuales

1)    Todos estaba de acuerdo en avanzar con un par de frases para modificar los Principios Operativos existentes para explicitar que LACRALO permite a individuos a participar en sus actividades. El grupo miró las siguientes dos frases:

3)    Más adelante este grupo tiene que conversar sobre la forma de incorporar a los individuos, y la posibilidad de postular a cargos. No hubo consenso en la llamada. Varias personas expresaron su apoyo a la propuesta que salió de la reunión en Puerto Rico, pero no fue unánime.  

Idea del presidente electo

3)    Como próximo paso, se acordó intentar definir con mas claridad los roles del presidente electo y secretario electo, y también explicar bien como funcionaría el proceso. También varias personas ofrecieron a hablar con el integrante que no estaba conforme. 

Próximas reuniones

1)    Se acordó tener las llamadas a las 23 horas UTC los martes. Sin embargo, como el próximo martes es feriado en muchos países, se decidió tener la reunión la próxima semana el miércoles 2 de mayo.

The governance group met by telephone and Webex on 24-April. The following people participated: Sergio Salinas Porto, Harold Arcos, Aida Noblia, Alberto Soto, Maritza Aguero, Vanda Scartezini, Humberto Carrasco, Antonio Medina Gomez, Dev Anand Teelucksingh, Jacqueline Morris, and Carlton Samuels, along with ICANN staff and David Plumb as moderator. The meeting had the following agenda:

- Translating perspectives into actions and revised Operating Principles 

The group reached the following conclusions:

Individual members

1)    Everyone agreed to move forward with a couple of sentences to modify the existing Operational Principles to make explicit that LACRALO allows individuals to participate in their activities. The group looked at the following two sentences:

3)    Later, this group has to talk about the framework for incorporating individuals, and the possibility of applying for leadership positions. There was no consensus on the call. Several people expressed their support for the proposal that came out of the meeting in Puerto Rico, but it was not unanimous. 

Idea of a president elect

3)    As a next step, it was agreed to try to define more clearly the roles of the president-elect and secretary elect, and also to explain better how the process would work. Also, several people offered to speak with the person who was not happy with the proposal. 

Upcoming meetings

1)    It was agreed to have calls at 23:00 UTC on Tuesdays. However, as next Tuesday is a holiday in many countries, it was decided to have the meeting next week on Wednesday, May 2.
