Silvia Vivanco:yes Siranush
judith hellerstein:Great!! who is the member from North America
judith hellerstein:Great!!
Heidi Ullrich:The approval text in part reads: Travel for two tribal ambassadors and one mentor for ICANN60 and ICANN61 public meetings is authorized, following the already established fellowship program criteria including selection of applicants and mentor (coach criteria). Community to identify a single At Large mentor to serve as a coach for the ambassadors.
Heidi Ullrich:Do the travel ambassadors need to be based in North America or can one be from another indigenous community outside the US?
Heidi Ullrich:North America...
Matthew Rantanen:I would like to respond
Heidi Ullrich:You are next Matthew
Silvia Vivanco:NARALO tribal Ambassador wiki page 57 includes Valerie's report: https://urldefense.proofpoint.com/v2/url?u=https-3A__community.icann.org_display_NARALO_NARALO-2BTribal-2BAmbassadors-2BPilot-2Bfor-2BICANN-2B57&d=DwICaQ&c=FmY1u3PJp6wrcrwll3mSVzgfkbPSS6sJms7xcl4I5cM&r=EIZsRD5HkaWrY-IOAapEBdyRwuZLXAVNnDN6t_SaXlQ&m=NcYP4L2imufjknCAwi05y0d-XEcn-nfoi-Y4T2hFSck&s=Z7n-HBekT6jo__2s_HbvmLC0b66vXdKfK6nFIxShM0M&e=
Matthew Rantanen:I will offer my services at Both meetings. I plan to attend each of those, Abu Dhabi, UAE and San Juan, Puerto Rico
Heidi Ullrich:@Siranush - a coach is a Mentor?
judith hellerstein:I think that we need to have an application and then to evaluate the applications we receive
Heidi Ullrich:So Matthew would need to apply to the fellowshop for 60 and 61?
Heidi Ullrich:and note he would like to be a mentor/coach to the tribal ambassors
Janice Douma Lange:@Heidi: coach is a Fellowship term; Mentor is a community terms as in the Onboarding and individual communities
Matthew Rantanen:I applied for 60, when does 61 open?
judith hellerstein:What is the difference between coach and mentor
Silvia Vivanco:I think coach = mentor they do the same
Heidi Ullrich:@Siranush, so no requirement for the Tribal Fellows to be from North America, correct?
Silvia Vivanco:its just a different name
Heidi Ullrich:Yes, Gisella and I can work on integrating the Fellows/Coach into Fellowship (working with Siranush) and At-Large
Siranush Vardanyan:coach=mentor, yes, Silvia
Siranush Vardanyan:No requirements to be from North America, Heidi - no limit
Heidi Ullrich:Excellent!
judith hellerstein:@janice that is exactly what I was going to ask for
Matthew Rantanen:THat would be Great! I like that
Siranush Vardanyan:agree completely
Heidi Ullrich:@Matthew/Loris, do you wish to promote this project to get representative indigenous people from around the world to apply to the Fellowshop program (60/61)
Siranush Vardanyan:ICANN60 application round is closed
Siranush Vardanyan:ICANN61 application round will be opened in August
Siranush Vardanyan:just FYI
Heidi Ullrich:Greatly appreciated, Janice!
Matthew Rantanen:I am working with my Tribal Leadership to have Southern California Tribal Chairmen's Association to apply as a new NARALO ALS
judith hellerstein:Yes and I handed out many cards to tribal people at the national digital inclusion conference
judith hellerstein:I hope many of them will apply to be an ALS
Heidi Ullrich:@Matthew/Loris, how best to ensure we get a lot of indigenous people applying...
Loris Taylor:That was my question. Whether Abu Dhabi was closed.
Heidi Ullrich:so, how do we get tribal reps at ICANN 60 at this point?
Heidi Ullrich:If the ABR was only approved in May?
Heidi Ullrich:To confirme, there can still be ambassadors at ICANN 6)?
Janice Douma Lange:yes - do your thing
Janice Douma Lange:From an ICANN Travel perspective - they like to get the names 3 months in advance if possible FYI but a couple weeks slip to get the names to them will NOT be a showstoppr in case you need a couple more weeks to finalize - toward end of July
Heidi Ullrich:Keep in mind that some may need to apply for a passport...
Heidi Ullrich:so that will take some more time
Janice Douma Lange:yes - on the mentor I thnk you have a shoe-in with Matthew - it is just a matter of funding later down the line closer to ICANN61 that we can collaborate on
Matthew Rantanen:I can make that work.
Matthew Rantanen:Thank you for the support @Janice and others
Heidi Ullrich:See you in Abu Dhabi :)
Heidi Ullrich:This North American School of IG will be held a few days prior to ICANN 61 in PR
Heidi Ullrich:Thanks, All.
Heidi Ullrich:Good call.
Siranush Vardanyan:we have 9 applications from North America received for Anu Dhabi - first time ever:)
judith hellerstein:That is great!!
Siranush Vardanyan:it is a great jump in # that is in the short time that the application system has been opened to NA
Loris Taylor:This call was excellent. I learned a lot.
Matthew Rantanen:thanks!
Silvia Vivanco:Thank you all !
Siranush Vardanyan:thank you everyone
Silvia Vivanco:Have a nice weekend!
Heidi Ullrich:Bye!
