  Evan Leibovitch:I abstained on the ALAC ratification vote, giving this explanation for my vote:
  Evan Leibovitch:I agree with the statement, however it only serves to re-enforce the analysis that this entire exercise to "measure" consumer choice and trust is so fundamentally flawed as to be useless. In many ways it appears to define after-the-fact "research" intended to justify ICANN policies regarding its gTLD expansion. To ensure a positive outcome, it avoid clarity and any difficult questions that might actually indicate that the actions of ICANN and its partners are actually reducing trust.The expansion of "consumer" to mean both end-users and registrants is an example of this lack of clarity, and invites the sensible criticism conveyed in the ALAC message.
