The ALAC has a view that is more balanced whereas there should be enough Registrant data available for an end user to be able to identify and contact the registrant of a domain name, especially for e-commerce

Positions quite different. As Olivier said, NCSG has focussed on the privacy aspects while the ALAC has strong concerns that maximizing privacy impacts ability to combat cyber-security issues. The GDPR allows for balancing the two issues, and also we have over-implemented GDPR appying it to entities that are not actually eligible (legal persons ver natural persons and those not subject ot EU law)
