  • Question 1: How can we ensure someone using .BANK is really a bank?Spain: Nielsen survey would be more representative if users who are average users of Internet had been surveyed as they are more prone to be victims of fraud. 
    --> It was not a filtering question but a question that was used for cross-tabulation. 
  • Spain: Take into account the conclusion that more than 70% respondents favored some level of registration restrictions on both legacy and new gTLDs as this is an increase from 2015. 
  • Spain: Survey should have been broader. 
  • Denmark/UK: Have new gTLD rounds had an impact on cost benefit? 
    --> Competition/Consumer Choice Team is responsible for the cost benefit analysis. Cost is often in form of defensive registrations although difficult to measure.

    --> We are going to conduct a study of brand owners probably through INTA to get an understanding of costs associated with the new gTLD program. UK: Will the review look at opportunities for small and medium-size enterprises? 
    --> We will ask applicants the degree to which costs was a barrier to entry. The Applicant Support Program was underuser.develoing the tools now to perform those evaluations. Future reviews might have an easier job because we will have established a lot of parameters used to measure success of programs going forward. 
  • Daniel Ebanks: How do you qualify as an underserved region?
    --> We will make our own definitions and seek public input on those so they can be refined, as needed.
