Quorum Requirement

All electorate members must vote to reach quorum.

Vote Method

Simple majority. An electorate member can only choose one Candidate.

Result Interpretation

The Candidate with the highest votes, which must exceed 50% of the vote cast (11 votes or more), becomes the ICANN Board Director selected by the At-Large Community (Seat #15) from the end of 2017 AGM (3 Nov 2017) to the end of 2020 AGM (23 Oct 2020).

Tie Breaking

If two Candidates receive exactly the same number of votes, BMSPC will run the tied election over again in case voter positions have changed.

  • If the tie is broken, the Candidate with the highest votes, which must exceed 50% of the vote cast, wins.
  • If the tie still exists, a in person draw will take place in ICANN58 Copenhagen to break the tie.
Vote Change

Once a vote has been cast in BigPulse, change is not allowed.

Instruction:

  • This poll opens on 21 February 2017 at 23:59 UTC and closes on 28 February 2017 at 23:59 UTC.
  • Once open, voters receive Vote Credential emails that contain links to BigPulse to cast their votes online.
  • Staff send reminders, as well as contacts voters who haven’t voted before the poll closes.
  • Once a vote has been cast in BigPulse, change is not allowed.
  • This poll is a simple majority vote: electorate members may cast vote for only one Candidate.
  • If one Candidate has more than 50% of the votes cast, that Candidate is deemed successful and declared the ICANN Board Director selected by the At-Large Community (Seat #15) from the end of 2017 AGM (3 Nov 2017) to the end of 2020 AGM (23 Oct 2020). Subsequently, the At-Large Board Director Selection Process is completed. 
  • If no Candidate receives more than 50% of the votes cast, a Tie Breaking Vote, which is the same simple majority vote, starts on xxx and closes on xxx. Its Vote Credentials are sent once the pollopens. 
  • If the tie still exists after the completion of the Tie Breaking Vote, an in-person, random tie breaking draw will take place xxx.
  • The successful Candidate for the ICANN Board Director selected by the At-Large Community (Seat #15) is announced on xxx.
