2) Special Travel Circumstances, Arrangements, Explanations, or Notations: (Please identify each traveler, as applicable) | While I am filling this form out for myself (Caroline Lupetini) as a traveler, this application is in support of a BC Outreach Event at ICANN77. 9) Proposed Goals and Outcomes: Content Guidelines (click here) | We aim for this event to be part mixer and part seminar/presentation. BC leadership will give a short presentation on the value of membership in the BC and a formal invitation to join. Other BC members will also give testimonial on the value of their membership formally, and informally mingle with potential members. We also aim to distribute leave-behinds and other literature about BC membership. This outreach event will target trade/industry associations whose members have interest in ICANN policy outcomes. Trade/industry associations can reach larger populations of businesses and organizations, and in DC are uniquely focused on policymaking. We hope that by targeting trade/industry associations and other business groups in the DC area, they can spread the word to their members about the value of ICANN policymaking and the multistakeholder model. This event is primarily a recruitment drive for BC membership, and we aim to welcome 2-4 new BC members into the constituency as a result. Following the event, the BC will share learnings and best practices developed from hosting an event like this one amongst other stakeholder communities.
10) Additional Information (optional): | Members of the BC Ex-Comm (Mason Cole, Lawrence Olawale-Roberts), Caroline Lupetini, and members of ICANN Org (Naele Sarras, Joe Catapano) spoke about this event on Friday 21 April, and shared goals and suggestions to build this event. Any among this group can answer additional questions about the objectives and goals for this event.
