9) Proposed Goals and Outcomes:

Content Guidelines (click here)

1) Workshops/Seminars/Presentations including roles (e.g., speaker, facilitator, organizer), relevant content, literature to be disseminated, and specific purposes/objectives.

None at the moment of requesting funds. Thought of submitting a proposal for a “Lighting Round”. (See https://www.digitalinclusion.org/netinclusion2020// for details. However, the deadline has closed when completing this form.

2) Engagement/Outreach including broadening awareness of ICANN in targeted regional areas (e.g., under-represented).

1. Will have pamphlets of NARALO to distribute to individuals that when approached seem interested in NARALO and ICANN activities and mission.

2. Engage with technical and professional associations to share knowledge, and seek to diversify stakeholder base, with new NARALO Individual Members and At-Large structures (ALs) in accordance with ICANN’s mission. This includes sectors within our region that might be under-represented as end-users: visually impaired, secure and stable access in some communities, preserving human rights, and support a resilient unique identifier ecosystem.

3) Recruitment including formal/informal invitations to become involved in ICANN stakeholder communities, working groups, and/or fellowship programs.

1. During breaks will engage in conversations with participants to explain the scope of NARALO and ICANN role in supporting a secure DNS.

2. The definition of ‘Digital Inclusion’ states that it refers to the activities necessary to ensure that all individuals and communities, including the most disadvantaged, have access to and use of Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs).  This includes 5 elements: 1) affordable, robust broadband internet service; 2) internet-enabled devices that meet the needs of the user; 3) access to digital literacy training; 4) quality technical support; and 5) applications and online content designed to enable and encourage self-sufficiency, participation and collaboration. Digital Inclusion must evolve as technology advances. Digital Inclusion requires intentional strategies and investments to reduce and eliminate historical, institutional and structural barriers to access and use technology.

These objectives are a direct result of engaging in ICANN’s Goal and strategic plans at a global and regional level. Thus, engaging in conversations with individuals at the event and establishing this synergy can result in recruiting people for different constituencies within ICANN, including NARALO working groups.

One of ICANN meetings, ICANN72 is scheduled to take place in Seatle, Washington on October 23-28, 2021. Thus, we will promote the Annual General Meeting and seek some parties interested in applying for ICANN Fellowships, NextGen, etc.

It has been noticed that the South West and West Coast of continental United States lacks ALS or an acceptable representation. Thus, this is a great opportunity to increase awareness among the participants at the event of the importance of having some insights into policy issues that pertain the National Digital Inclusion Digital Alliance.

It is worth mentioning that at the North American School of Internet Governance at Montreal, Canada among the panelist we managed to have a member of last years networking at the event.

4) Fulfillment of documented Outreach Strategic Plans and/or ICANN Regional Strategies.

1. To gather data of interested parties in a Google form that will be used to collect demographics information to follow-up after the event. More information will be sent as part of the follow-up process. The form will follow the guidelines established by ICANN.

5) Knowledge Sharing including intentions to extend learnings within and among ICANN stakeholder communities.
