Gisella Gruber-White:Welcome to the New gTLD Review Group on Friday 25 January 2013 at 1600 UTC
  Gisella Gruber-White:Agenda: https://community.icann.org/x/gAVlAg
  Thomas Lowenhaupt:good morning.
Thomas Lowenhaupt:Must I dial in to be heard?
Eduardo Diaz:¡Hola a todos! - I am connecting to the bridge shortly
  Dev Anand Teelucksingh:Hello everyone
  Justine Chew:Hi everyone!
Dev Anand Teelucksingh:the gTLD RG received this comment on .health : http://mm.icann.org/pipermail/newgtldrg/2013-January/000233.html
  Adela Danciu:Hello everybody!
Thomas Lowenhaupt:I've posted a focused response to the 4 tests at https://community.icann.org/display/newgtldrg/.nyc_OG?focusedCommentId=40175086&#comment-40175086

  Dev Anand Teelucksingh:.amazon  : https://community.icann.org/display/newgtldrg/.amazon_OG
Justine Chew:I don't think I have audio. Please refer to the webpage Dev has posted above.
  Dev Anand Teelucksingh:GAC advice : https://gacweb.icann.org/download/attachments/22938690/Amazon-BR-PE-58086.pdf
Tom Lowenhaupt:Had to reconnect as Tom Lowenhaupt as Firefox crashed.
Olivier Crepin-Leblond:@Tom: if you use the same name, it just calls you by the same name 2
  Dev Anand Teelucksingh:http://www.amazon.com.br/
Olivier Crepin-Leblond:you're right in the middle of the storm which asks: can generic words be used as new gTLD?
Justine Chew:Geographic-specific operations ("com/br") is probably required due to copyright issues.
  Justine Chew:Thanks Adela!
Olivier Crepin-Leblond:The applicant can WITHDRAW the application too with a majority of its application fee reimbursed
  Justine Chew:I would think so.
Justine Chew:Especially since the objections are coming from governments.
Justine Chew:Which can be taken as representing all their citizens, no?
Adela Danciu:yes, that was an issue I was also thinking about - and having 3 RALOs endorsement, there is a big endorsement, but I think the substantial refers to the *identified community*
Justine Chew:My issue relates more to the limb of detriment.
Olivier Crepin-Leblond:@Justine: yes, if the GAC objects to a new gTLD, it is highly likely that this new gTLD will NOT succeed.
Olivier Crepin-Leblond:does this mean that the ALAC should not bother objecting? I do not know
Justine Chew:@Olivier: That is the essence of my question. Even if ALAC were to consider objecting, RG still has to consider the test because any objection has to meet ALL 4 limbs/test, does it not?
Kenny Huang:GAC vs. ALAC decision are seperated decision process
Olivier Crepin-Leblond:yes Justine. And yes Kenny. We do have to keep our process separate.
Justine Chew:@Dev: Correct, so are we still discussing the first test or could we move on to see if any other test is NOT met?
Justine Chew:Agreed! Objectors should do their homework just like what Tom has done.
Justine Chew:@Dev: Get the objector to help substantiate its objection further based on the tests!
  Eduardo Diaz:YES
Kenny Huang:I second Justine's argument. Validation mechanism of the RG is structured and well-defined. RG can only use the given mechanism to validate objection.
  Tom Lowenhaupt:https://community.icann.org/display/newgtldrg/.nyc_OG?focusedCommentId=40175086&#comment-40175086
Tom Lowenhaupt:The last comment directy addresses the 4 test areas.
Justine Chew:Tried to but Tom was still updating his comments up to a couple of hours ago!
  Tom Lowenhaupt:city government only

Fatimata:I am off, please have ADIGO call me back
Gisella Gruber-White:@ Fatima - yes we are calling you
  Fatimata:thanks Gisella
Gisella Gruber-White:@ Adela - we are calling you again
  Adela Danciu:thank you!
  Adela Danciu:I'm following on Bridge
Gisella Gruber-White:@ Adela - do you want us to call you or are you happ to ONLY listedn on Adobe Connect?
Adela Danciu:I'm ok with adobe, thank you
Gisella Gruber-White:@ Adela - thank you
Justine Chew:@Dev: Can I ask a procedural question?
Adela Danciu:this .nyc application is stated as geographic name, not community based TLD
Justine Chew:Tom/.nyc is asking for abeyance of the application or is objecting to the same?
  Tom Lowenhaupt:listening
Justine Chew:Yes. So can RG make a recommendation to abey an application or just whether an application should be allowed to proceed or rejected.
Adela Danciu:the obligation to have the community assent as far as I remember is for the community-baseed TLDs only ...
  Yrjö Länsipuro:Adela +1
Justine Chew:Exactly, so back to my original question to Tom,
  Justine Chew:Exactly Tom!
  Fatimata:Yes Dev
Adela Danciu:the comment was received after 16 Feb
Adela Danciu:so are we considdering it?
  Fatimata:???
Fatimata:May be we should ask toall the members
  Fatimata:I am not against it
  Justine Chew:I'm indifferent.
Adela Danciu:I abstain. I am not sure if this would affect further proceedings or not (if we decide to consider and file an objection based on it)
Fatimata:Can we ask the objector to do the home work
  Fatimata:like Tom?
  Dev Anand Teelucksingh:http://mm.icann.org/pipermail/newgtldrg/2013-January/000233.html
Gisella Gruber-White:@ Dev - I will send out a Doodle poll for Firdy 01 February 2012.
