13) Additional Information (optional): | I have practiced intellectual property and nonprofit law for over 30 years. My passion for my work is rooted in the belief that brand protection equals consumer protection. This is especially true in the Internet arena where the opportunities of fraud and abuse appear limitless for commercial and noncommercial users. My interest in ICANN and the rules that govern domain names grew out of the desire to protect consumers from fraudulent fundraising campaigns and promote ethical use of the Internet. ICANN's mission appeals to me because the multi-stakeholder process is the arena where the policy and technical communities work together to create a secure, resilient and reliable internet space. |
