Adobe Connect Chat Transcript:

Nathalie Peregrine: GNSO RCRC/IOC Drafting Team Meeting Agenda 19 September, 2012

Nathalie Peregrine: Greg Shatan also sends his apologies

Chuck Gomes: I'm in

Mary Wong: NCUC & NCSG believe a full PDP is necessary, for reasons we've stated before. NCSG, in particular, would urge that the IGO issue form part of the context for such a PDP.

Debra Hughes: Thanks for your comment, Jim. RCRC agrees that protection could be granted in first round for IOC/RCRC without a PDP

Mary Wong: @Alan, doesn't the 2nd sentence in para 1 (starting with "Most of the group" answer your concern? We could add your name to Greg's if that would help clarify.

Greg Shatan: I have joined the call.

Mary Wong: Why not make the assumption explicit, so that we are clear in our message?

Alan Greenberg: @ requires a PDP on IOC/.RC, but that PDP may well cover a superset of organizations.

Kiran Malancharuvil/Jim Bikoff: I agree that the term "most of the group" is misleading. just because we were willing to be a part of the J.Scott compromise, doesn't mean we believe that there needs to be a PDP

Alan Greenberg: I don't think a PDP is needed for the 1st round ,but it is needed for our compromise

Osvaldo Novoa: My Call fell, I'm trying to reconnect

Osvaldo Novoa: I'm on again

Debra Hughes: I agree with Alan and Jim's comments regarding adding the names to the reserved names list - adding new terms could confuse the issue

Kiran Malancharuvil/Jim Bikoff: agreed greg

J. Scott: I agree with Greg too

Debra Hughes: Jim's proposed language sounds good

Kiran Malancharuvil/Jim Bikoff: so... what we just suggested, for clarification is: "a list of reserved names temporarily ineligible for registration at the second level during the first round, pending the resolution of a PDP."

J. Scott: I have to drop off this call.

Berry Cobb: It is a part of the condition.....I can reword that.

Berry Cobb: Perhaps we can create a footnote to recommendation 1 that this DT recognizes that a PDP may be intiated on IGO.

Berry Cobb: and that the Council consider that.

Debra Hughes: IFRC and American Red Cross agrees that the RCRC names should be allowed to be registered by National Societies, IFRC and ICRC

Alan Greenberg: I've got to drop off now (another call starting soon).

Berry Cobb: 21 and 21 for reply - total of 42

Mary Wong: Thanks, Chuck and everyone - good call. Bye!
