This is an open Working Group meeting at which all interested community members are welcome to participate. This Working Group has been tasked to conduct a Policy Development Process (PDP) to determine: (a) whether the existing curative rights dispute resolution mechanisms (i.e. the Uniform Dispute Resolution Policy and the Uniform Rapid Suspension procedure) should be modified in order to address the specific needs and concerns of International Governmental Organizations (IGOs) and International Non-Governmental Organizations (INGOs) and, if so, how; or (b) whether a new, narrowly tailored, specific procedure is necessary.

AGENDA:

  1. Welcome, introductions and brief overview of the PDP
  2. Summary and Discussion - IGO jurisdictional immunity
    1. Implications for the PDP of legal expert research on differing treatment by national courts of IGO jurisdictional immunity – absolute, restrictive, functional

    2. Implications for the PDP of legal expert view of the likely effect of the Mutual Jurisdiction clause (as found in the UDRP and URS) on IGO jurisdictional immunity

  3. Discussion of legal expert and other suggestions on possible reforms and options for the policy problem presented

  4. Next steps and closing
