The development objective of the Project is to strengthen the capacity of Internet end-users in Participating Countries, and enhance regional collaboration and knowledge sharing on Internet Governance issues. Several regional and international agencies, APNIC, ISOC, PICISOC, ICANN and the University of the South Pacific in discussion with PIRRC have noted the absence of and need for, enlightenment of all stakeholders in the ICT ecosystem regarding good governance of cyber space.

10) Proposed Goals and Outcomes:

1. Organization of a Pacific Internet Governance Forum with participation from stakeholders within the ICT sector;

2. Identification of key Internet governance issues and plan to address these

3. Identification of key regulatory and Pacific internet policy issues to be addressed

4. Provision of advice on internet governance needs in the Pacific which can be highlighted to ISOC

5. Recommendations for the establishment of national organisations to become ALS members of At-Large (ICANN)

6. Commitment by stakeholder participants (government, private sector and civil society) for an annual or biennial Forum focused on Pacific Internet Governance issues

7. Several speakers have been invited. Confirmed are the Prime Minister of Vanuatu, Honourable Charlot Salwai Tabimasmas; Mr. Houlin Zhao, Secretary General of the ITU (Video Message); Mr. Ioane Korovuki, Regional Director, ITU Regional Office for Asia and the Pacific; Paul Wilson, APNIC; Rajnesh Singh, ISOC Bureau, Singapore.
