Purpose and Goals:

The primary objectives of the APRALO Leadership Team’s participation at the APRICOT 2017 meeting are:

  • Exploring the opportunity  for regional cooperation and collaboration with regional organizations including APNIC, APTLD, ISOC and APSIG
  • Providing outreach services for increasing awareness on APRALO/ICANN, leading to the formation of ALSes in underserved regions
  • Interacting with other regional and sub-regional organizations and technical community representatives to consider joint programmes in domains such as technical outreach and capacity building
  • Participate in discussions on the state of the Internet in the APAC Region, and address the challenges and opportunities in bringing in the next Billion from the region.

Proposed Outcomes:

  1. Opportunity to update the technical community about APRALO and ALAC activities and strategic objectives (at the APSTAR meeting as an as we did at APNIC42)
  2. Raised awareness of APRALO and its activities and involvements among other regional groups (making use of networking opportunities)
  3. Increased networking links for the APRALO Leadership team and learning more about the work and activities of APNIC as well as other members of the regional technical community .
  4. Opportunity to meet with other APRICOT women (at the Tech Girls Social) to introduce APRALO and to promote our work in the region (Maureen)
  5. A Leadership strategic planning session for FY18 to include further technical collaboration, as well as capacity building and outreach activities for FY18 and the Abu  Dhabi annual general meeting and Showcase, to present to APRALO in Copenhagen. 
  6.  A report to APRALO and CROPP recording important interventions, interactions and feedback during our networking sessions during the week.

APRICOT 2017 (is comprised of the joint workshop and conference weeks of APNIC43, in conjunction with other regional partners eg APSTAR, APIX, and DotAsia.  

The following attendance plan is made on the tentative program schedule available at this time. In addition to these, Satish, Ali and Maureen will be attending all public forums and socials for networking and outreach. In addition, where possible, presentations on APRALO will also be made during sessions.
