10) Proposed Goals and Outcomes: | Goal # 1 To outreach to potential new ALS's for NARALO Goal #2: To identify how and in what the point of views stated during the IGF can nurture ICANN, ALAC and NARALO and improve policies and increase accountability (ex.: Critical Internet Ressources: the IANA stewardship, enhancing multistakeholder engagement in the governance of the Internet). Goal #3: To share the information gathered with the 735 members of ISOC Quebec and our regional community and increase awareness on the trends, the best practices, the policy issues, the legal issues (ex: digital trade, the online identity) with growing implications for consumer protection, trademark abuse, and privacy. Outcome: To raise interest and attract actual members and newcomers who could contribute to the NARALO ongoing projects and activities and to ISOC Quebec activities at the local, national and international level. Goal #4: The new digital economy : how is supported, regulated and guided innovation that springs from coworking, Internet of Things, sharing economy (UBER), digital trade. Outcome: What is the NARALO position and priorities on these new issues and what are the end user concerns. These new topics represent an opportunity to outreach a new audience, a younger public and a diversity of potential contributors to the NARALO. Goal #4: The IGF USA is an opportunity to share knowledge and best pratices regarding the governance of digital divide, rural access to decent Internet services, new TLDs development, and many other topics that will likely be addressed. Outcome: Besides the benefits of cultivating constructive discussions on these issues, it offers an opportunity to create partnership. It's also a good opportunity to strengthen the links between NARALO members, and cultivate a collaboration approach in issues of mutual interest.
11) Additional Information (optional): | ISOC Quebec is teaming with DotQuebec in various activities including events in Montreal and Quebec City. One of the collateral interest of my participation to the IGF USA would be to consider if and how an IGF Quebec could be useful to our community. We would then discuss that opportunity with the ALs and independent members of NARALO.
