What is the purpose of the trip?: 1. Holly and Ali will be keynote speakers on ICANN and IGF issues related to local concerns Holly - Net Neutrality Ali - eTools for eSociety application (sharing experiences related to online payment fraud and other cyber-security issues) 2. Holly and Ali will be able to engage with other community groups at the IGF providing input from around the table with regards to ICANN and IGF related topics - Multistakeholderism, Accessibility, DNSSEC, AND any other topics that are going to be raised at the IGF that are ICANN related?? 3. Outreach and training opportunity for local ALSes with APRALO leaders - especially with regards to contribution to policy development (working group engagement) What are the goals for the trip: 1. To provide APRALO leaders with a better understanding of the Armenian Strategy and its relationship to ICANN activities 2. To promote an understanding of the interactive multistakeholder ICANN ecosystem, in Armenia Please identify proposed outcomes: 1. Raised awareness of ICANN and APRALO by the Armenian IGF community 2. Raised awareness and understanding about the internet environment in Armenia 3. Increased participation by the Armenian community in ICANN activities due to their better understanding of how ICANN policy development works

THE MAIN THEME OF THE FORUM

Multistakeholder approach to the National Internet Governance.
The first Armenian Internet Governance Forum ArmIGF 2015 is organized by the multistakeholder Internet Governance Council (IGC) of the Republic of Armenia with the support of the Ministry of Transport and Communication (MTC) and the Internet Society NGO (ISOC Armenia). The main objectives of the forum are:

  • to provide an open and transparent platform for all stakeholder groups
  • to bring up and discuss the Internet governance related issues
  • to give the floor to the wide community
  • to deliver the messages to the policy makers

The first ArmIGF will be held on 7-8 September, 2015 in Yerevan, Armenia.

Note: Siranush will also present in the event  “ how to encourage youth for greater participation in global IG”

  • ISOC Armenia has already expressed readiness to support the APRALO CROPP applicants with two additional days of hotel accommodation so that they will be able to participate in the gathering of European ccTLDs in.
