This proposal consists of the inclusion of a clause in the current article 4 of the Operating Principles.

LacRALO’s governing body shall consist of a General Assembly made up of two (2) representatives from each accredited ALSs, to be named and removed freely by each ALS, which shall communicate to the Secretary the identity of the persons so named.

The persons in question shall also function, during the period in which they are named, as official contacts for the ALS before LACRALO.

The General Assembly shall, to the extent possible, function by consensus. When consensus cannot be achieved, each accredited ALS in the General Assembly shall have the right to a single vote, and any matter submitted for a vote shall be decided by a simple majority.

In the event of a tie, the person presiding over the meeting shall cast the deciding vote.

The General Assembly shall elect a President, whose term shall be for one year, with the possibility of reelection. The process of election of the President of the Assembly shall take into account the level of participation, leadership, commitment, and knowledge of the work of the Assembly. In the event of a tie in the course of deliberations, the President shall cast the deciding vote.
