Notes/ Action Items

Actions

  1. By Tuesday, 5 February at 17:00 UTC (see separate message for instructions), the Trademark Claims Sub Team is tasked to focus on reviewing the first four (4) source documents in the ‘Source’ tab of the analysis tool, and provide input in the Google Docs set up for ALL Trademark Claims Charter Questions.
    1. When providing input, please note the source name and page/slide number of the previously collected data.
    2. For those who have completed reviewing the first four (4) source documents and filling in the google docs, you are welcome to continue tackling the subsequent source documents in the same fashion.
    3. By the deadline, the Google Docs will be locked to prevent further editing and their PDFs will be circulated to the Sub Team. Staff will accept and indicate the new input in the Google Doc for the ease of viewing.

  1. Sub Team Co-Chairs will consider the request for additional meetings to analyze the previously collected data, if more time is needed as of 20 February.

Notes

1.  Updates to Statements of Interest: Kathy Kleiman is a Visiting Scholar to American University

2. Procedures for Additional Data:

-- Items from SubPro-- staff can review and determine items, if any, that might inform the Sub Team's discussions.

-- Idea is for Sub Team/WG members to assist in bringing relevant additional data.  Leverage existing knowledge and expertise of WG members.

-- Data requests were made before the survey was developed and conducted.  Can be more targeted if we know what the gaps are.  The AG survey data may answer these questions already.

-- Re: Workload -- working with Sub Team Co-Chairs to manage the workload and break it into smaller pieces.

3. Begin analysis of previously collected data with respect to the Claims Charter Questions:

Data sources:

-- AG Report on the Independent Review of TMCH -- Feb 2017 -- WG meeting with AG and review of the data, and follow up questions were sent to AG.  Going back with a much more defined purpose.  Done in response to the GAC request.

-- INTA Cost Impact Survey -- of its membership.  Presentation given to the full WG August 2017 and discussion among the WG of the survey results.

-- Spreadsheet -- 24 hours of work for staff to input -- found some data that may answer the charter questions so entered into the columns (staff summary).

-- Request to Co-Chairs to revisit the timeline after the next 3 meetings.

-- Suggestion for better ways to do the work: For Claims Charter question 1 - Kristine and Kathy reviewed the first 3 documents.  Everyone else review that input and work ahead.  Homework is first 4 documents this week.  Then AG and INTA.  Expand to all 5 charter questions.  Go document by document to all the charter questions.
