☆ICANNのJia-Rong Lowから日本の皆様へのメッセージ

Dear Japan community members,
You might have heard the news regarding my upcoming departure (*1) from ICANN, and where I will be heading next. I'd like to take this opportunity to thank you for all your support and collaboration in my 11 years in ICANN.
I will be handing my role to Mr. Samiran Gupta, who is an engagement veteran in the region. In terms of engagement with the Japanese community, he will continue to be supported by Ms. Athena Foo, whom many of you have met in recent engagements, as well as Ms. Yumi Ohashi, our Japan Liaison whom you are all familiar with.
I am confident that our collaboration with you will continue from strength to strength. Japan continues to be a leader in the region, and we hope to continue to work with you both to strengthen Japan's contribution to ICANN and Internet Governance, as well as to help to the regional community participate in maintaining the single, open and globally Interoperable Internet that we all love and depend on.

日本のコミュニティの皆様へ
すでにご存知かもしれませんが、このたびICANNを退職(*1)して別の組織に移ることになりました(*2)。これまで11年間、日本の皆様には多大なご支援とご協力をいただきました。心よりお礼申し上げます。
今後、ICANNでの私の役割はAPAC地域エンゲージメントのベテランであるMr. Samiran Gupta（サミラン・グプタ）に引き継ぎます。日本のコミュニティとのエンゲージメントにつきましては、最近お目にかかる機会が増えてきたMs. Athena Foo（アティーナ・フー）と、皆様よくご存知のジャパン・リエゾンである大橋由美が引き続き担当いたします。
日本の皆様とICANNとの協力関係は、今後ますます強固なものになると確信しております。日本はこれからもAPAC地域のリーダーであり、ICANNスタッフはICANNとインターネットガバナンスに対する日本のご貢献を今後もサポートしてまいります。また、オープンでグローバルに相互運用可能なただ一つのインターネットは、私たち全員が親しみ、頼りにしているものです。そのインターネットの維持にAPACコミュニティが引き続き関与していくためにも、日本のコミュニティと協力させていただきたいと考えております。

☆ICANN暫定事務総長兼CEOブログ：事務局の人事に関するお知らせ

このたび、Jia-Rong Low（VP, Stakeholder Engagement and Managing Director, Asia Pacific (APAC)）がICANN事務局を退職することになりました。最終日は8月21日の予定です。
Jia-Rongは2013年にシンガポールオフィスに加わって以来、11年にわたりAPAC地域におけるICANNのプレゼンス確立に尽力してきました。2016年に現在の役職に就いてからは、各国の政府や関連組織との連携、若者向けの能力開発プログラム「Asia Pacific Internet Governance Academy（APIGA）」の立ち上げなどを通じ、世界のICANNコミュニティにおけるAPACの発言力向上を実現してきました。APIGAに参加した人のうち25%は、その後もICANNおよびインターネットガバナンスの議論に参加し続けています。
Jia-Rongの後任は、Samiran Gupta（現ICANN VP, Government and IGO Engagement, APAC and VP, Stakeholder Engagement, South Asia）となります。どうぞよろしくお願いいたします。

☆APACの各国に広がるLocal APIGA
￣￣￣￣￣￣￣￣￣￣￣￣￣￣￣￣￣
Asia Pacific Internet Governance Academy（APIGA）はAPAC地域の18歳〜35歳の若者を対象としたインターネットガバナンスに関する能力開発プログラムで、韓国政府KISAとICANNが共同で年に1回韓国で開催しています。
この1年間は、APIGAの共催団体などと協力し、各国にLocal APIGAを広げる機会を模索してきました。2024年4月には、台北で初のLocal APIGAが台湾の団体によって開催されました。今後は、ネパール、インドネシア、オーストラリアでLocal APIGAが予定されています。
