DDP (Document Development and Drafting Pilot Program) Home

Welcome to the Wiki space for the Document Development Program! We're calling it "DDP" for short.

The ICANN Policy Development team, working with advisors at WBC Global, has developed and implemented a new pilot program designed to assist ICANN stakeholder communities with greater resources to enhance their ability to participate in the drafting of public comments and various other submissions to ICANN.

The DDP consists of two elements – one component involving direct community support and a second focusing on improving the informational component of public comment opportunities.

This wiki space is designed to assist with the dissemination of information and encourage feedback and collaboration on the informational program component - focused on providing information for all stakeholder groups on upcoming Public Comment Proceedings (PCPs).  This element of the pilot program will be the development of a 1-to-3-page primer document/template that will be produced and distributed to all ICANN stakeholder communities whenever a PCP is opened.

The ultimate goal of this informational component effort is to produce an easy-to-read summary document format that will provide the background of each particular PCP; analysis of the issues involved in the PCP; and the potential impacts of the PCP on key stakeholder groups. Over the course of the pilot effort, in collaboration with members of the ICANN community, WBC will produce up to 20 of the primers on priority PCPs for the stakeholder communities. Each primer iteration in this effort will feature opportunities for community input as we experiment and adjust the primer content to achieve a final template/format that can be utilized for all future PCPs.
