1. Encourage ALS and individual member participation in ALAC policy development

Use the RALO Policy Platform

The RALO Policy Platform is currently being developed under the leadership of Justine Chew. In addition, APRALO is planning to revise the policy topics of interest to the community ("Regional Hot Topics") through a survey

2. Work towards the formation of new ALSes and recruitment of new individual members

Reach out to existing members as well as regional partners and the GSE team to identify potential ALSes and individual members

None required.

One of the Vice-Chairs to be mandated with membership development for leading this initiative


Plan a trip to one of the countries where there are no member ALSes (such as Myanmar, Laos, Cambodia etc)

Either available CROP slot or funding as agreed with APAC GSE

To commence planning when COVID-19 situation has abated and global travel situation becomes predictable.

3. Enhance engagement with existing ALSes and individual membersPartner with the GSE Team to create outreach programs targeted at ALSes and individual members as well as the broad community, including webinars, and local community meetings where possible. Use ATLAS 3 Ambassadors wherever possibleFunds may not be required, but a paid Zoom meeting account for common use by the APRALO community would be useful.Leverage on high-interest topics (e.g. DNS abuse). Target 1 webinar per subregion (e.g. Middle East / Asia / Pacific / Central Asia per quarter).

4. Enhance awareness about ICANN, APRALO and ICANN At-Large

Disseminate information and engage with linguistic communities on Universal Acceptance and Internationalized Domain names for promoting their use, at the RALO level as well as at the level of ALSesFunds may be required for local meetings, and can be sourced from APRALO Discretionary Budget or from funds available for local initiatives in UASG

Discuss with ICANN org teams (GSE, UA/IDN Programs) to plan for activities.

5. Enhance regional and global co-operation within the IG Ecosystem

Work with regional partners and global processes such as the global IGF
