Quorum:

The question was presented in case quorum of 50% is not reached during the period of the electronic vote, a second round of vote is initiated (24 hrs), 48, or 72 hrs, "according to the urgency of the matters at the discretion of the Chair "

 Pastor Peters suggested that second request shall be put within 24 hrs and members shall have a week to vote.

The second round results will be valid if : 33%- 25% or 10% of the total number of accredited ALSes vote.

Votes by members present were : 

3- 25%

3- 33%

1- 10%

 It was decided that the question of quorum and thresholds will be presented to the General Assembly in Johannesburg

 

 Removal of Vice Chair Position;

  The majority of members agreed but 3 members In the WG did not agree to this proposal and this will be presented to the General Assembly

  •  Tijani Ben Jemaa will draft recommendations on  Quorum and Vice Chair position removal to be presented to the entire AFRALO membership at the General Assembly.

  1. Regarding the quorum, the statutory principle requires that at first 2/3 of the members must be present. If this quorum is not reached, 1/3 of the members present may decide.

    However, as far as the post of Vice President is concerned, I do not yet see convincing elements justifying the need to keep this post. It is necessary to define precise tasks that are assigned to this position and not just a figurative character.
