Item of Information:
ITF: In Baku Azerbaijan:
We are proposing to have a workshop with Baku IGF. They accepted part of it.
What we can organze with ICANN so we can increase participation with IGF with the community.
Presentation on the gTLD Objection review. There may be comments. This is the first time ICANN has an operational role, something never permitted before.
Each RALO should be represented by two people.
On the African level we have myself and Fatimata representing AFRALO.
Representation of AFRALO at ALAC level was accepted.
We have a volunteer at the ALAC level
Those domain names which were requested will be analyzed and at the beginning of the objection period.
We will be working on batching.
As regards the Agenda which we have proposed, what happens is that on June 1st we asked everyone to spend a day and candidates for each region voted .
June 6th to June 12 we had 2 conferences on information to discuss the purposes and mission of the group. It was a very interesting meeting where there were questions which did not need an answer. The review working group was normally working.
If there are no objections the group does not need to consider applications.
Aziz: I have just presented the names of all the groups which have been presented. The objection criteria was divided into 4 categories.

Today ICANN published the list of domain names appplications and we can see that we have good reasons to be proud. There are 1,930 applications and 84 that were community based. 84% are applications community based. 160 are in non latin characters, we need some support, we have worked a lot.
We can put into action those mechanisms to help those that need it.
There were only 3 applicants asking for support.
There is another problem and it is that the applicant's support comes from 111 from NA, 75 from Europe, 23 from Asia and Pacific and 17 from Africa, There are lots of things we can chose and say that we are not satisfied because you did not do what you had to do for developing countries. Our request is really a good argument for ICANN to help us because the information is here we can see it

The message must be to our community we have to say that we asked us for work at the last moment.
5. AFRALO -AfriCANN Meeting in Prague
A small group of 4 persons willl be formed to decide on the theme.
Janvier: New gTLD, on the African side we have only 17 applications and he was very sad when he saw that result, we need to re-organize ourselves. We know that Africa does not have a lot of money, we have to put the debate back on the table and speak about that.
