The Internet Society Kyrgyz Chapter Public Association is a non-governmental organization (NGO) founded in 2015 committed to promoting the open development, evolution, and use of the Internet for the benefit of all people throughout Kyrgyzstan. The mission of the ISOC Kyrgyzstan Chapter is dedicated to advocating for an open, secure, healthy and accessible Internet for all individuals and communities in Kyrgyzstan.

  1. Digital literacy programs: The chapter organizes workshops, training sessions, and awareness campaigns to promote digital literacy skills among various demographic groups, including youth, women, and marginalized communities. The latest project Sanarip Insan had reached out 35% of the total population of the country via national broadcasting channels, social media, as well as offline trainings conducted in all the regions of the country. https://isoc.kg/sanaripinsan/

  3. Internet infrastructure development: They collaborate with local and international partners to support the development and expansion of Internet infrastructure in underserved areas, such as rural communities, through initiatives like community networks and Internet exchange points.
  4. ICT for climate resiliency.  The goal of the project is to demonstrate that a useful, scalable and reliable IoT application based on LoRaWAN technology can be built on an open and secure network. https://isoc.kg/iot-climatechange-monitoring-research/

  5. Responsible AI in Central Asia. Our program aims to ensure transparency, accountability, explainability, responsibility, interpretability, and reliability in the deployment of AI systems.
