EURALO Trip Proposal 2

Trip Assessment Form

1) Describe the Trip in sufficient detail
that an interested reader could understand if/how
the original purpose(s) and outcome(s) were
realized (please be as expansive as possible):

The purpose of the trip was a visit to IGF2018, representation in the framework of this major event for the community At-Large, specifically - EURALO. First of all, to represent and actively work on the promotion of the community, coverage of activities and involvement in the potential work of people who came to the Forum.

For three days at UNESCO headquarters, I worked with colleagues at the booth at-Large, answering questions from interested guests, provide and support to getting them full information about ways to join to ICANN space, distributing information materials, taking reportage photos of panels and discussions and lobby`s  communications, filling the news feed of the Euralo page on Facebook. Now I am a  co-author of https://www.facebook.com/EURALO/?ref=bookmarks.

I was the speaker of WS #269 Do (not) touch: selfregulatory safe harbor of social platforms”  and represented our community there.
During this event  I had the important opportunity to discuss of the working aspects and prospects of strengthening the activities of the SubCommittee on O&E with Daniel Nanghaka. As a result I have prepared a draft strategy of our possible activities (also with some highlighted suggestions for our future working at the same events): https://docs.google.com/document/d/1mHdRgPU-o_V5ie05rol7TZeMPjrXAGBxEEIvguXWFJY/edit?ts=5c3f964e/. Now this document is the active discussion and we are building a plan of the implementation of possible directions and /or changes.

Together with Roberto Gaetano we also outlined the plan of outreach activities of the Individuals` Association.

This was my first Global IGF. Incredibly important not just attend and do O&E work, but to understand the scope and specifics of our work and the place of our community, to understand the huge experience of colleagues, and opportunity to exchange some knowledge there.

I have been a member of EURALO since 2018, so it was very important for me (as for beginner), to have the opportunity of f2f networking, exchange of experience with at-Large leaders, colleagues from ICANN, ISOC, IGF and regional IGF conferences (SEEDIG, EuroDIG), with whom I have been working in WGs all of 2018 to prepare these events.

2) Describe the details of your attendance
and
activities at the meeting (including sessions
attended, written or oral contributions made to
specific sessions, etc.):

For three days I worked with colleagues at the booth (at-Large). In those moments when colleagues replaced me, I could attend WSs and round tables, panels and discussions.

There were some problems with the navigation and organization of the forum, so I (like my colleagues), experienced the difficulties of choice and the opportunity to have time to fully listen to the topics of interest (a lot of a crosses issues in the same time). However, I visited:

  • 40 Internet Mega-Trends' Impact on the Internet's Architecture
  • 269 Do (not) touch: selfregulatory safe harbor of social platforms
  • 275 Before you know it, Internet governance will be irrelevant
  • 324 Freedom on the Internet" is for EVERY stakeholder
  • 443 The Internet and Jobs: preparing Gen YZ for future of work
  • 80 Hack the Hate: Empower society to face hate speech

I attended the open O&E session of SEEDIG (as a member of the community and as fellow of 2018).

I witnessed an important event-the signing of a MOU between the Euralo CENTR https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.1905523006209994&type=1&l=a8bd191a5f.

Unfortunately I was not able to hear the speech of the French President, however, I have had the opportunity of the presence in the final part of the forum, where they summarized the results of the forum and announced the venue of the next IGF in 2019 - Berlin.

3) Explain the specific plans for follow-up activities
to enhance and continue the objectives of the trip for
the community structure through which you were
approved for the trip:

In this case I am a little late fill out this form (I apologize for the delay) , I can say not just about the plans, but also about what is already in the process of work (I thank colleagues for their trust and involvement in the work):
I am actively involved in developing the strategy and discussing options for activating the sub-Committee on O&E.
I am a member of the Capacity Building working group and I have a broader vision of our capabilities. Everything that I can offer, I submit for discussion with colleagues.
I'm part of the working group for the preparation ATLASIII.
I have proposals to transform the work within the Individual`s Association.
All my proposals are rational and have a real opportunity of implementation. And I work with all the energy and desire to make a lot for our community. I believe in success.
And now, with the experience of participation and work at the booth, I put proposals for the transformation of visual and promotional materials, as well as all media resources of Euralo without additional budget increase. The goal is a brighter and more representative participation of future events and an increase in the number of leads.

The Internet community is a cross-community. Therefore, after visiting the forum, networking with the most brilliant persons, my work in ISOC (as executive manager of SIG IoT), SEEDIG (I am waiting for the answer to my request to be part of Program Committee), assistance to colleagues from IGF has acquired a different scale and deeper interaction.

I especially thanks to this great opportunity to attend at IGF 2018 and to present Euralo and ALAC at such huge event and i am very grateful of non-stop supporting from colleagues.
