Trip Assessment Form

1) Describe how the original Purpose and Goals were accomplished:

The purpose and goals were to attend the Africa Internet Summit (AIS) and the AFRINIC-22 Meeting which  took place in Tunisia from 29 May to 5 June 2015. During this Summit I discussed  with ISOC Chad about the advantages to be an At-Large member. I supported their application to be an Atlarge Member. I also contacted ISOC Tunisia and encouged them to apply to become an AtLarge member. I also work with ISOC Gabon Chapter, guiding them to conclude their ISOC accreditation process before applying to Atlarge Member. I also promised to support their application on that.

During that Summit, I also learned more about ICANN and Internet governance during discussions and debates in planaries and in workshops. I were to help in conducting the Afrinic board Elections, which worked well.

2) Describe how the original Outcomes were achieved:

ISOC Chad, ISOC Tunisia and ISOC Gabon are today aware of  the AtLarge Structure in ICANN.

During the Summit I encourage them to work on Internet governance stuff.

The result of that is that they accepted to apply to attend the Internet Forum Governance of Central Africa in August 2015 in Malabo. They are now involved into the Internet activities within the Region.

3) Date Completed:22-Sep-2015
4) Additional information pertaining to this outreach event (optional):I met other AtLarge members like Aziz, Jijani with whom I discussed and shared experiences, as well as talk with Pierre Dandjinou, the  President of ICANN for the African Region.
