Línea de tiempo de elección sugeridos

1. La convocatoria de elecciones: la Secretaría regional de hará una convocatoria de elecciones por el 15 de julio 2012
2. Periodo nominación: se aceptarán candidaturas para dos semanas después de que la Secretaría pide nominaciones (hasta el 29 de julio de 2012)
3. Fecha límite aceptación: los candidatos deben aceptar su nominación y no tardar más de dos días después de que el período de nominación termina (31 de julio de 2012)
4. Fecha límite elección: la elección se iniciará a más tardar  2 semanas después del final de la aceptación (11-18 de agosto de 2012 a las 23:59 UTC).

Fondo

LACRALO tiene que elegir un representante para servir en la el Comité Asesor en Large (ALAC) a partir del final de la ICANN de octubre de 2012 hasta la última reunión anual de ICANN de 2014.

Sergio Salinas Porto de Argentina ha servido como nuestro representante de ALAC desde 2010 a 2012 y no puede ser reelegido para un segundo mandato según la regla 9 de nuestros Principios de funcionamiento de LACRALO

De acuerdo con la regla 8 de nuestros Principios de funcionamiento de LACRALO:

• Los representantes seleccionados será un miembro de un ALS acreditado; y
• Tienen su lugar principal de residencia en un país de la región LACRALO; y
• No puede ser de la misma nacionalidad que la sesión representantes regionales de ALAC (este excluye candidatos de Paraguay y Jamaica); y
• Necesita comprender y respetar a los miembros de las obligaciones y responsabilidades del ALAC (véase https://community.icann.org/x/HoMi y https://community.icann.org/x/roYi)

Una llamada de teleconferencia LACRALO con los candidatos podrá celebrarse del 1 al 10 de agosto de 2012. La intención de dicha llamada de teleconferencia es para un
debate cordial con los candidatos respondiendo preguntas de LACRALO, y qué asuntos relacionados a At-Large ICANN son importantes para los candidatos.

Los candidatos aceptados deben preparar una carta de interés. Esto debe ser una breve biografía, qué y por qué estás interesado en servir
como el representante de LACRALO en ALAC. Tales cartas de interés se registrará en el wiki LACRALO.

Después de la teleconferencia, la votación para elegir a un representante de ALAC en la lista de candidatos llevará a cabo. Cada ALS en LACRALO acreditada recibirá
por correo electrónico instrucciones específicas y un sitio Web para enviar su voto.

Al final del período de votación, los votos son contados según regla 12.9 de la RP (cada voto se ponderan con un coeficiente de país), y los resultados de la votación, incluyendo los votos emitidos y los votantes se presentan a todos de LACRALO, según el artículo 20 que rigen la regla 12.4.

ELECTION FOR ALAC REPRESENTATIVE FOR 2012-2014

Timeline suggested for elections 

1. This call for elections: The regional Secretariat  will do a call for elections for 15 July  2012
2. Nomination period : Candidacies will be accepted during two weeks after the request for nominations  (hasta el 29 de julio de 2012)
3. Deadline for acceptance: candidates shall accept nominations no later than two days after the nomination period ends (July 31, 2012)
4. Deadline for elections: the election shall start 2 weeks after the end of the acceptance period  (11-18 August  2012 at  23:59)

Basis

LACRALO has to elect a representative to serve in the Advisory Committee of At Large (ALAC) from the end of the  ICANN meeting of October  2012 until the last annual ICANN meeting of 2014.

Sergio Salinas Porto of Argentina has served as our representative to the  ALAC since 2010 to 2012 and cannot be reelected for a second term according to rule 9 of our  LACRALO Operating  Principles

According to rule 8 of our LACRALO Operating Principles 

• The selected representative will be one member of one ALS acreditado; and
• Have his/her main place of residence in one country of the LACRALO region and
• Cannot be of the same nationality as of the session of regional representatives of ALAC  (this excludes candidates of Paraguay and Jamaica); and
• Needs to understand and respect the members and obligations and responsibilities of the ALAC  (see  https://community.icann.org/x/HoMi and  https://community.icann.org/x/roYi)

A teleconference with  LACRALO with the candidates can be held from the 1 to 10 August of  2012. The intent of such call is for a cordial debate with the candidates responding to questions from LACRALO and what issues related to ICANN At Large are important for candidates.

The accepted candidates shall prepare a statement of interest. This shall be a brief biography, what and for what you are interested in serving as LACRALO representative in  ALAC. Such statement of interests shall be registrered in the LACRALO  wiki.

After the teleconference, the votes to elect one representative of the ALAC in the list of candidates shall take place. Each ALS accredited in LACRALO shall receive via electronic mail, specific instructions and a website to send his vote. 

At the end of the voting period, votes are counted according to rule 12.9 of the RP (each vote shall be weighted with a country coefficient ),and the results, including the issued votes and the voters shall represent all of  LACRALO, according to  artículo 20 of rule  12.4.
