W3C has interest in having this auction proceed policy development going in a direction where it eventually creates something that can fund part of the Open Web Standard development process.

I'm participating in this group to represent the interest of Open Web standardization developing common goods for the Internet at large, available to all people, whatever their hardware, software, network infrastructure, native language, culture, geographical location, or physical or mental ability.
