AC Chat
Brenda Brewer:Welcome all to the CCWG ACCT WS2 Leadership Kickoff call on 27 July @ 19:00 UTC!
Leon Sanchez:Hello everyone!
Leon Sanchez:We will be beginning shortly
Thomas Rickert:Hi all!
Niels ten Oever:Hi all
Lori Schulman:Hi
Mathieu Weill:Hi everyone, good to get together and kick that WS2 off...
Edward Morris:Hi everybody
Cheryl Langdon-Orr (CLO):Hi Ed
Farzaneh Badii:Hi
Greg Shatan:Hello, all!
Cheryl Langdon-Orr (CLO):HI Farzaneh
Karen Mulberry:Note that Bernie is on holiday so the notes for the session may be limited
Cheryl Langdon-Orr (CLO)::-)
Vinay Kesari:Hi everyone!
Niels ten Oever:We did not receive the slides for this, right?
Leon Sanchez:Niels, I think you didn't. Apologies for that
Niels ten Oever:thank you ! :)
Karen Mulberry:I can share them
Lori Schulman:I think all of these topics are complex
Lori Schulman:some are more contentious
Niels ten Oever:It will depend
Niels ten Oever:I would hope so
Lori Schulman:Standards of Behavior might but I can't tell without more research
Greg Shatan:You are a very optimistic person, Niels....
Brenda Brewer:Slides are sent to everyone's email.
Avri Doria:saying that a topic will not be complex, is to tempt the fates.
Lori Schulman:How about contentious vs noncontentious
Edward Morris:Lori, I totally agree with you.
Avri Doria:in this crowd?
Niels ten Oever:@Greg - hope dies last
Steve DelBianco [GNSO - CSG]:@Avri -- be Asiprational and not Temptational
FIONA ASONGA (ASO):I suggest we determine the category as we progress
Vinay Kesari:I think human vanity dictates that all of us will feel our particular topics are complex :)
Avri Doria:i aspire to understanding and resolving, not to simplification.
Edward Morris:It may be difficult to tell until the subgroups have had their first meeting.
Jordan Carter (ccNSO):on the adobe room and chat at last, hi all
Jordan Carter (ccNSO):my own thought was that we needed to have input at one meeting, and then agreement at the following
Edward Morris:Hi Jordan. Do you sleep at all? :)
Jordan Carter (ccNSO):and so we'd have consultation on half our topics at hyderabad, and the other half in copenhagen
Jordan Carter (ccNSO):and agreement on half in copenhagen, and half in joburg, to finish by June '17, which is our time limit as far as I was aware
Jordan Carter (ccNSO):hi Ed - I'm almost never asleep at 7am ;)
Edward Morris:+1 Jordan in terms of goals
Jordan Carter (ccNSO):the question is, what can we get ready for community discussion in Hyderabad
Jordan Carter (ccNSO):if the answer is "nothing", then, "uh oh"
Cheryl Langdon-Orr (CLO):Of course some if not all of us will have "something" as you put it Jordan by Hyderabad
Cheryl Langdon-Orr (CLO):well I am at least confident our DT will ;-)
Mathieu Weill:Commitment noted Cheryl
Mathieu Weill::-D
Cheryl Langdon-Orr (CLO):;-) Mathieu
Avri Doria:will they go in as a group at the end, or individually as ready? i would argue for together at the end given interdendancies.
Lori Schulman:Agree with Avri. Let's have entire quilt.
Lori Schulman:Not just the patches.
Mathieu Weill:Avri, for approval I would hope together, but we can't rule out some form of fast trackif needed
Mathieu Weill:I have CEP in mind for instance due to relationship with IRP
Cheryl Langdon-Orr (CLO):Noting of corse Mthieu that some topics are quite interdependant
Mathieu Weill:Yes, diversity / SOAC Acct can't be taken apart
Edward Morris:Agreed Mathieu.
Mathieu Weill:for instance
Cheryl Langdon-Orr (CLO):<QUESTION> previously I had found in the WS2 wiki a page that linked to each topic and their related documents including BG papers where complete I could not fine that again earlir today URL please (or reproduction if removed) It was very useful IMO
Jordan Carter (ccNSO):i think where we see interdependencies we have to keep them together
Cheryl Langdon-Orr (CLO):Indeed Jordan, and be able to oopen up and cross check where unpredicted nexus bcmes clear during our work
Jordan Carter (ccNSO):we could also produce and share a dependencies outline with the community to check our thinking
FIONA ASONGA (ASO):+1 Jordan
Cheryl Langdon-Orr (CLO):Same as for WS1 then tripple the "work' meeting wise for Rappourteurs :-)
Cheryl Langdon-Orr (CLO):and I am not complainig it works!
Mathieu Weill:We'll try to make it efficient and short Cheryl ;-)
Cheryl Langdon-Orr (CLO):and occassionally at a reasonable time of day for me Mathieu ?
Greg Shatan:asynchronously
Greg Shatan:aye-sink-ro-nus-lee
Cheryl Langdon-Orr (CLO)::-)
Mathieu Weill:The purpose is definitely NOT to force everyone to participate to each call.
Greg Shatan:aye = long a
Becky Burr:hello all, sorry to join late
Cheryl Langdon-Orr (CLO):Hi Becky
Jordan Carter (ccNSO):hey Becky
Lori Schulman:My subgroup's question is entirely legal: what are the correct standards of behavior to qualifiy for indemnity
Mathieu Weill:Or to NOT qualify for indemnity, might be easier
Greg Shatan:Mathieu, you must like to live dangerously....
Mathieu Weill:Being a co chair...
Greg Shatan:This puts 2 out of the 3 work slots out of the North and South American workday.
Niels ten Oever 2:same for europe
Cheryl Langdon-Orr (CLO):Karen, if thee slots have shifted an hour then just move / adjust the requests from ourAC/SO Acountability DT already requested accourdingly please!
Michael Karanicolas:+1 to that
Michael Karanicolas:To what Jordan's saying - I feel like email is a much better way of pushig the work forward than by phone.
Cheryl Langdon-Orr (CLO):I think that is u t each of the groups Jrdan Obviously shared Docs nd wiki's will be a ke as well
Greg Shatan:Niels, you're not working at 1900 UTC? You must have it easy.... :-)
Niels ten Oever 2:I do not stick to european working day :)
Jordan Carter (ccNSO):the notion that ICANN work is done in paid working hours is.... lol.
Greg Shatan:I think there's an Article in the UDHR for that....
Niels ten Oever 2:The ILO would lash out at CCWG if they heared about it
Jordan Carter (ccNSO):For the record, I wasn't doing any thou shalt - I was pleading for people to maximise the use of non realtime tools, and I stand by that
Cheryl Langdon-Orr (CLO):And Ordan my time zone is as nasty as yours is ;-)
Avri Doria:we have voluntarily indentured ourselves to the casue.
Greg Shatan:I just hope to work during waking hours as much as possible.
Niels ten Oever 2:depends when you're awake Greg
Cheryl Langdon-Orr (CLO):Opps Joordan sorry about the slip of the typing finger
rafik:same here Cheryl ;)
Avri Doria:Greg, i always wake before going to work.
Cheryl Langdon-Orr (CLO):indeed Rfik
Niels ten Oever 2:Should we discuss options with our group or choose up our preferences? What is expected?
Greg Shatan:@Avri, I'll ;have to try that sometime.
Cheryl Langdon-Orr (CLO):thugh Tokyo, SYDNEY NZ takes in a 6 hr spread in its own right ;-)
Jordan Carter (ccNSO):With groups I think, Niels
Jordan Carter (ccNSO):diff groups of people have diff average preferences for how to work
Avri Doria:i think the hourly rate is lower for people who are awake.
Niels ten Oever 2:But first we discuss with our groups and then back in this group? seems somehow inefficient
Lori Schulman:nov 2 will be too tricky I think. as most will be in transit to India
Greg Shatan:Agree on Nov 2. I think I have to leave US on October 31 to be there for our Day Zero meeting.
Jordan Carter (ccNSO):Niels, for content or working methods? I don't think anything was asked for at this group other than a clear high level work plan?
Niels ten Oever 2:I meant choosing time slots
Greg Shatan:Actually Lori, I think Nov 2 is our F2F on Day Zero!
Lori Schulman:Just letting this group know that I don't arrive to Hyderabad unti Monday morning Nov. 7. I have a conflict with coming to the meeting any earlier. I am out of pocket from the evening of Nov. 4 through my arrival in India.
Karen Mulberry:The staff papers are posted at the bottom of each groups wiki page
Greg Shatan:You may want to figure out how many rapporteurs are appointed members.
Jordan Carter (ccNSO):i can't hear anyone other than Mathieu
Jordan Carter (ccNSO):I won't be accepting any travel support for WS2
Avri Doria:i can only travel with support.
Lori Schulman:I do not need travel support either due to my late arrival. Will foot the bill myself.
Cheryl Langdon-Orr (CLO):Yes Karen and the ones I have read to date are quite useful as referennce points for our work
Niels ten Oever 2:<QUESTION> am I correct in stating that we will discuss with our groups what the best time would be for meeting and then request the timeslots?
Lori Schulman:I read my group's paper. It appears straight forward and clear. Thank you.
Niels ten Oever 2:ok - thanks!
Chris Wilson:no support needed for me
Avri Doria:I was covered in WS1 based on the ATRT Expert task. Will that remian the same in WS2?
Edward Morris:A one night add on for the F2F, for those of us covered for the meeting, would be appreciated if funds exist.
Karen Mulberry:August 5th is teh date Travel Support would like the list of approved CCWG funder travlers
Cheryl Langdon-Orr (CLO):I would have thought so Avri = to Member status in y biased view
Avri Doria:definately a lot of the topics are related to the ARTR2 report.
Cheryl Langdon-Orr (CLO):drpped audio deliberatly to join my next cll will stay here in AC though
Edward Morris:Thanks!
Karen Mulberry:Yes, the process for travel funding was to alow for the support to be divided up
Greg Shatan:If you are otherwise supported, you might ask when your hotel will start. I've noticed that for longer trips with an early arrival the day before, the room is often booked for the prior night.
Niels ten Oever 2:There are some mistakes in the HR paper
Niels ten Oever 2:Not completely what was suggested during editing, can I address some issues in the google doc or via email?
Karen Mulberry:I will resend the draft travel support process and form out to eveyone
Greg Shatan:When can we expect the remaining papers?
Niels ten Oever 2:OK thanks
Leon Sanchez:A tough ride with lots of fun and some more bumps ahead!
Mathieu Weill:Bumps guaranteed. Fun optional.
Mathieu Weill::-D
Leon Sanchez::P
Cheryl Langdon-Orr (CLO)::-)
Jordan Carter (ccNSO):Fun accidental
Jordan Carter (ccNSO):but also essential
Cheryl Langdon-Orr (CLO):Thanks all now we need to just "get going"
Leon Sanchez:Thanks everyone!
Greg Shatan:Bye all!
Leon Sanchez:bye
Niels ten Oever 2:bye all
Karen Mulberry:Thank you
Cheryl Langdon-Orr (CLO):Bye for now then I have to get to another cll
Jordan Carter (ccNSO):bye everyone!

Mathieu Weill:Bye
Lori Schulman:bye
