Beau Brendler:Personally I am very resistant to this idea. Frankly if we were to start taking action against non-active ALSs in NA-RALO we would soon be down to about three or four members

Wolf Ludwig:Finding new members is one challenge -- KEEPING the old ones is just another!

Sivasubramanian M:Wolf, are you talking about new ALS structures or new members within ALS structures?
Heidi Ullrich:The Improvements Taskforce has suggested to create a WG on Outreach. It is expected that the ALAC will endorse it on the Sunday in Costa Rica.
Heidi Ullrich:that WG will work with Global Partnerships, etc.
Sivasubramanian M:face to face meetings is not the only way, but a face to face meeting achieves a lot more than an online meeting, especially when the participatns have never had a feel of what an icann meeting is like

Sivasubramanian M:Wolf, we could think of an AT large wide stragy for new ALS's , reach out to the civil society groups and organizations taking part in the Internet Governance forums, free and open source groups, and in other ngo events concerning Internet
Sivasubramanian M:The effort coudl be as simple as that of the ALAC chari writing to the civil society organizations or post messages in their mailing lists, or come upwith a list of events to attend for outreach
Wolf Ludwig:EuroDIG for example became an important in- and outreach opportunity for EURALO!
