Welcome to the home page for the Privacy & Proxy Services Accreditation Issues Policy Development Process Working Group.

This Policy Development Process (PDP) was initiated by the ICANN Board when it launched negotiations with the Registrars Stakeholder Group in October 2011 for a new form of Registrar Accreditation Agreement (RAA). At that time the Board also requested an Issue Report to deal with remaining issues not covered by the negotiations that would be suited to a GNSO PDP. Both the Preliminary and Final Issue Reports were published for public comment in 2012. The new 2013 RAA was approved by the ICANN Board in June 2013. 

The GNSO Council chartered this Working Group and approved its Charter at the GNSO Council meeting on 31 October 2013. 

UPDATE: The Working Group completed its work and delivered its Final Report to the GNSO Council on 7 December 2015 (see http://gnso.icann.org/en/issues/raa/ppsai-final-07dec15-en.pdf). On 21 January 2016 the GNSO Council approved all the consensus recommendations from the Working Group as contained in the Final Report (see http://gnso.icann.org/en/council/resolutions#20160121-1). The recommendations were forwarded to the ICANN Board for its review and action. The Board approved all the Working Group's consensus recommendations in August 2016.
