Yrjö Länsipuro: Hi Desiree, could you enable the Adobe Connect audio?

Desiree Cabrera: Hi, the audio is connected, we're just very quiet this morning.

Yrjö Länsipuro: No, I mean audio connection from the computer, not the phone bridge

Desiree Cabrera: You might have to refresh. The audio (phone or computer) are the same. Some of us in the room have been able to talk so far, so if you're having trouble you might need to refresh the room.

Zakir: yes. i was able to hear the hello hi.

judith hellerstein: Hi why do we have to use the phone to dial in and cannot use the computer

Rafik: we can wait for 1 or 2 minutes to get more people joining us

judith hellerstein: Can you fix the audio. I had thought you had siad that it was fixed

judith hellerstein: it still is not fixed

judith hellerstein: OK so now hear from the speakers but the audio is not allowing me to use my mike

Farzaneh Badii: I can;t connect my mike

Matthew Shears: I seem not to have ability to use computer to participate

judith hellerstein: Yes it is muted for all. I have the same issue

Farzaneh Badii: I can;t hear anything

Desiree Cabrera: Please try refreshing now, the rights should be there.

judith hellerstein: you hav e to join in listen only mode tohear from the computer speakers

Yrjö Länsipuro: Same here. The "Join audio conference" only gves the phone option, not the one for comouter mic and speakers

Matthew Shears: good now thanks

Desiree Cabrera: Great! Glad to hear it's working now.

Olivier MJ Crépin-Leblond 2: Draft proposal URL: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1hnr5r1V-WDUxNswlVxqUUarQRCKc1YqdDVmkeX49Fd8/edit?usp=sharing

judith hellerstein: HI Desiree, the rights are not there. the only audio is to have the system call you or you to call into the system

Desiree Cabrera: Hi Judith, have you refreshed? I double checked the microphone settings and they are set to allow microphone participation.

judith hellerstein: I will try and refresh

Marilyn Cade: this is getting to be amazingly difficult. I would have expected to join via conf. call, not having to dial in, as that means that I cannot raise my hand to speak.

Yrjö Länsipuro: Audio OK now

Farzaneh Badii: oh I am in

judith hellerstein: Great it is now working

Desiree Cabrera: Hi Marilyn, most others have refreshed to get their audio participation working through the computer.

Farzaneh Badii: just refreshed and working

Marilyn Cade: can you pause to make sure taht all of us are able to fully participate, before you proceed?

Marilyn Cade: can you hear me?

judith hellerstein: no marilyn we cannot

Marilyn Cade: RAFIK, CAN I BE HEARD

judith hellerstein: @marilyn are you using the adobe connect add in. If you are you do not need to reboot

judith hellerstein: no Marilyn we cannot hear you

Marilyn Cade: YOU MIGHT THINK, RAFIK, THAT THSI DOES NOT INCLUDE MY COMMENTS. I AM DISAPPOINTED THAT I A =M NOT EVEN ALLOWED TO SPEAK.

Marilyn Cade: BUT IF YOU ARE NOT ALLOWING ME TO SPEAK, HOW DO I COMMENT?

judith hellerstein: Hi Marilyn, please type in the comments field

judith hellerstein: your comments are now appearing on the screen

Marilyn Cade: ASK THE ICANN STAFF TO DIAL OUT TO ME, OR ALLOW ME TO CONNECT. THAT IS WHAT WE NEED TO DO, RIGHT?

Farzaneh Badii: ICANN staff please dial out to Marilyn

Desiree Cabrera: Hi Marilyn, once I have a phone number, I can send out a dial out.

Zakir: i cant as well, but apparantly thats because of my connection. traveling nd in listen only mode.

Farzaneh Badii: Yes I'll do it

judith hellerstein: @zakir. you may also need to have the new adobe connect add in

judith hellerstein: without this you cannot hear people

Farzaneh Badii: I will type in the doc

judith hellerstein: @marilyn since you are both on the phone and the adobe. please mute one of them so we do not hear the echo

Olivier MJ Crépin-Leblond 2: I think that MArilyn's mic now works too

Olivier MJ Crépin-Leblond 2: so we can her her through AC room and through telephone

judith hellerstein: Please mute marilyn

Farzaneh Badii: I am the alligator

Zakir: thanks @ judith. i am actualy from phone with the latest app. but thats fine, its mainly becuz of low connectivity. all i am getting is EDGE connectivity. no 3g no lte.

Farzaneh Badii: support for the word structure

Farzaneh Badii: also specifications instead of requirements is good

Marilyn Cade: I HAVE BEEN NOT ABLE TO CONTRIBUTE, DUE TO THE FACT THAT I AM ONLY ABLE TO SPEAK VIA PHONE, YET I HAVE TRIED SEVERAL TIMES TO FULLY PARTICIPATE. WOW, HOW DO WE ACTUALLY EENABLE FLLL ABILITY TO COMMENT? I CERTAINLY ACAN'T, AS I AM NOT ABLE TO EVEN SPEAK.

Matthew Shears: yes can hear

Zakir: shall we have the audio/recording of this call available later?

Desiree Cabrera: Yes, this call is being recorded will be available.

Farzaneh Badii: I don't think GNSO will buy the "advising" bit

Farzaneh Badii: I am the angry alligator

Matthew Shears: Perhaps we can craft a chapeau para of text that captures the importance of the community's engagement in IG to continue

Marilyn Cade: support to Greg. Jimson and I are participants in the UN CSTD WG Enhanced Cooperation and this is a real threat.

judith hellerstein: If you are not signed into Google, it assigns you a name, Also for google if you wnat to comment, please use the insert comment field

judith hellerstein: then these comments are tracked and you can see who agrees or disagrees or adds another point

Marilyn Cade: I like the term from Farzaneh of "informing" ICANN more.

judith hellerstein: @marilyn, if you are not speaking can you mute your phone as adobe is picking up your audio and causing feedback. Thanks

Matthew Shears: I have always hoped that the CCEG would also be a vehicle for bringing community IG concerns to the broader community and the BD WG on IG

judith hellerstein: @matthew yes I agree with you

Marilyn Cade: inform is better in my view. I suggested a time line different but it seemed to be have ignored?

Marilyn Cade: I suggesed a draft earlier as well.

Marilyn Cade: I proposed that we have a draft for discussion before this ICANN60 for discussion. Has that been ignored, Rafik, by you?

Greg Shatan: What is our benchmark for ICANN60 with the GNSO Council?

Matthew Shears: I agree with a preliminary draaft for icann60 - we need to socialize make sure that we have buy in sooner than later

Olivier MJ Crépin-Leblond 2: +1 MArilyn -- we need to have a draft ready bi ICANN60. NOt one that we officizlly share with the GNSOC Council, but at least if there is a question about whether a draft is available we can say yes we have one...

Olivier MJ Crépin-Leblond 2: preliminary draft is preferable. I have real concerns about being asked "no draft? what have you done for the past 4 months?"

judith hellerstein: HI Olivier I agree with you

Matthew Shears: + 1

Matthew Shears: completely agree Greg - spot on

Marilyn Cade: I support Greg's comments. Can we do a 2 page update as a newsletter for ICANN60, that includes half a page on this progession of a new mechanism?

Greg Shatan: We should make a few slides if there is a presentation.

Marilyn Cade: Why can't we do a Powerpoint update that describes our progression toward the work we are doing, awith a summary of the zero draft, etc.?

Marilyn Cade: and have those reviewed in all the groups. Greg and and I are part of CSG, so maybe we could use at the CSG.

Greg Shatan: this first page would be a good start on slides, along with a timeline

Rafik: @Greg if we finalize it yes

Marilyn Cade: I need to see the full PP, as all of us do, and then we can perhaps identify others to attend such sessions.

Marilyn Cade: Great, would welcome that. perhaps we set a deadline of 4-5 hours.

Greg Shatan: A deadline does wonders to focus the mind...

Marilyn Cade: great.

Marilyn Cade: I made a number of suggestions, Rafik, and I have no idea on whetehr these are accepted, rejected, or ignored.

Matthew Shears: we also have the wed f2f to discuss the vehicle

Marilyn Cade: So, can you start with how suggestions are addressed. A major concern to me is what our over all role is. this is very critical to the BC I suspect, as I doubt that can accept that this group drives what ICANn does, or devises positions without public comment process.

judith hellerstein: @marilyn. Unless you write them as comments you will not know if they are accepted, modified or anything. If you have them as comments then Google will tell you when people add additional suggestions

judith hellerstein: I agree with marilyn and noted this question as a comment on the working draft

Greg Shatan: Agree with Marilyn. This has been one of the “fears” of the Council.

Farzaneh Badii: no comment has been ignored ...

Farzaneh Badii: but if you don't put it in the google doc, it might not be captured

Olivier MJ Crépin-Leblond 2: it all needs to be in Google Doc, yes

judith hellerstein: HI Farzi she is just adding them to the text and when you do that and some one else adds something else it gets erased

judith hellerstein: the only way for it to be there is to use the comment feature and not the add in feature

Greg Shatan: To be clear, we need to start accepting changes. We can’t keep our options open.

judith hellerstein: Then google tracks it and sends you an email

Greg Shatan: I will work in the Doc.

Zakir: ah, may be we need to be in “suggesting” mode and ot in “edit” mode . when working on it. the google doc.

Farzaneh Badii: I always put my comments in suggest mode so that people see them

Rafik: it is under suggestion mode, unfortunately google revert to edit every time

Greg Shatan: @OCL, I was not clear. I agree with you.

Matthew Shears: but more clarity on that issue in the doc probably would be good

judith hellerstein: if you are logged into google than it allows you to edit

Marilyn Cade: we might submit a paper, but we say not witout public comment, but I am not willign to say without SO/ACs, as we did a public event open to all, including govts, that led to the statement for the NetMundial, but it was an open on site consultation, quite unique... and Oliver has also identified a few other exmples.

judith hellerstein: this is why i suggest using the comment mode feature

Marilyn Cade: Sorry, I meant: for any event simiar to NetMundial, or other event, we could organize a public consultation, sorry I was shortcutting my explanation.

Olivier MJ Crépin-Leblond 2: We could say that the group will not submit statements on the behalf of the ICANN community without due process of public commeent, or ratification from each chartering organisation

Farzaneh Badii: I need to go. Goodbye people

Matthew Shears: can we have a deadline end this week for final proposed changes

Marilyn Cade: Right, Olivier. but we might want to differentiate from informational briefings from positions on behalf ot the ICANN Community.

Olivier MJ Crépin-Leblond 2: This is a small group so Rafik could sent individual invites for each person

Matthew Shears: suggesting is best

Olivier MJ Crépin-Leblond 2: We have the list of drafters here. Ct/paste into inviting us

Marilyn Cade: Yes, greg, look for whether you are a real person. No anonymous contribubors.

Matthew Shears: thanks rafik!

Greg Shatan: Marily, I am real in the margin. But I can only stop being an animal if someone shares the document with my individual email.

judith hellerstein: yes. thanks greg for that info

Greg Shatan: Thank you and bye all!

judith hellerstein: we need to have everyone invited personally
