Renata Aquino Ribeiro: (08:16) v4 doc right?

Bernard Turcotte - ICANN: (08:16) right

  Renata Aquino Ribeiro: (08:16) tks

Julie Hammer: (08:17) "and summarize Community recommendations for improvement..."

Cheryl Langdon-Orr (CLO): (08:18) that works

  Kimberly Anastácio: (08:18) +1 Julie

  Bernard Turcotte - ICANN: (08:19) +1

  Renata Aquino Ribeiro: (08:19) +1

  Esteban Calisaya: (08:19) +1

  Cheryl Langdon-Orr (CLO): (08:19) +1

  Robert: (08:20) +1

Bernard Turcotte - ICANN: (08:20) @Rafik the requirement of SOACs is in rec 5

Bernard Turcotte - ICANN: (08:20) Recommendation 5: Each SO/AC/Ggroup, supported by ICANN staff, should undertake an annual update of their diversity assessment against their dDiversity cCriteria and objectives at all levels including leadership. They should publish the results on their official website and use this information to review and update their objectives, strategies and timelines.

Renata Aquino Ribeiro: (08:22) community + independent role participant sounds good

Julie Hammer: (08:22) I don't understand what that means

Esteban Calisaya: (08:23) I think it means that it wouldn't be the staff doing the recommendations.

Cheryl Langdon-Orr (CLO): (08:23) that was discussed and did not get traction

Julie Hammer: (08:23) That's what we are tring to change with the amendment.

Renata Aquino Ribeiro: (08:23) agree. that could be the diversity office, make sure it is independent.

Renata Aquino Ribeiro: (08:23) agree w/ esteban*

Cheryl Langdon-Orr (CLO): (08:24) The text Julie proposed here makes it extra clear these are Community received

Cheryl Langdon-Orr (CLO): (08:24) that's an improvement I see and support as many others don't seems as well

Cheryl Langdon-Orr (CLO): (08:26) should read do suppurating

Cheryl Langdon-Orr (CLO): (08:26) we understand Seb

Renata Aquino Ribeiro: (08:26) yes I understand too

Renata Aquino Ribeiro: (08:27) and i agree on 2: community + indenpendent office

Renata Aquino Ribeiro: (08:27) but not sure this should be inserted here

Renata Aquino Ribeiro: (08:28) independent from staff was mentioned a few times

Cheryl Langdon-Orr (CLO): (08:28) thus the new text Renata

Renata Aquino Ribeiro: (08:29) I guess the dilemma here is that "independent from staff" does not necessarily mean only "community" it is thinking of a 3rd role, the office

Cheryl Langdon-Orr (CLO): (08:29) many of us don't support such an office at this time

Nicolas Fiumarelli - Youth IGF UY: (08:29) Here Nicolas from Uruguay, since there is a report on woman with disabilities by the UN yesterday maybe adding Disabilities in the diversity dots.

Nicolas Fiumarelli - Youth IGF UY: (08:30) ah.. now I see it there.

  Cheryl Langdon-Orr (CLO): (08:30) yep

Bernard Turcotte - ICANN: (08:30) time check 30 minutes left in call

Julie Hammer: (08:31) It is not independent...it is the tasks we are seeking staff support for.

Cheryl Langdon-Orr (CLO): (08:31) I really think that the new text goes far enough for now

Renata Aquino Ribeiro: (08:31) thanks Nicolas for the reference, yes it is there

Cheryl Langdon-Orr (CLO): (08:31) exactly Julie

Renata Aquino Ribeiro: (08:32) it's hard to think diversity w/out independence... it already posts directly to bias

Cheryl Langdon-Orr (CLO): (08:32) received 8 is all about effective staff support of community objectives and reporting outcomes

Cheryl Langdon-Orr (CLO): (08:33) received should read Rec

Renata Aquino Ribeiro: (08:33) so the office is not in the text at all?

Renata Aquino Ribeiro: (08:35) well, if it may be implemented later, why not register it was discussed here?

Bernard Turcotte - ICANN: (08:35) hand

Cheryl Langdon-Orr (CLO): (08:37) yes put out what we will likely get through

Cheryl Langdon-Orr (CLO): (08:37) it may happen at some point of course

Cheryl Langdon-Orr (CLO): (08:38) staff do data capture / reporting from Data capture

Renata Aquino Ribeiro: (08:38) reporting and editing can be biased

Renata Aquino Ribeiro: (08:38) where one stands highly influences independent reporting

Julie Hammer: (08:39) We do understand, but we disagree.

Cheryl Langdon-Orr (CLO): (08:39) noted Seb and this is a continuous improvement process

Nicolas Fiumarelli - Youth IGF UY: (08:40) Maybe could add a section about the kinds of transport services and facilities that are required by regulations or law and those that are required to address the far larger mobility needs of most people with disabilities and also something to indicate when and why policy discussions must go beyond a focus on the ADA to address the full spectrum of the needs of travelers with disabilities. Also I suggest providing effective mobility options for those with disabilities requires attention in ICANN meetings.

Bernard Turcotte - ICANN: (08:40) and summarize Community recommendations for improvement.

Julie Hammer: (08:41) Looking for it in the chat

Cheryl Langdon-Orr (CLO): (08:41) Bernie has it

Cheryl Langdon-Orr (CLO): (08:41) yes ok

Bernard Turcotte - ICANN: (08:41) now reads -= Produce an Annual Diversity Report for ICANN based on all the annual information and provide a global analysis of trends and summarize Community recommendations for improvement, where appropriate. This should also include some form of reporting on diversity complaints.

Bernard Turcotte - ICANN: (08:42) change made in google doc

Cheryl Langdon-Orr (CLO): (08:44) that is my understanding Julie

Bernard Turcotte - ICANN: (08:44) corect

Cheryl Langdon-Orr (CLO): (08:45) yes understood Bernie

Cheryl Langdon-Orr (CLO): (08:46) then v5 goes to plenary when?

Cheryl Langdon-Orr (CLO): (08:47) ok  Aug CCWG meeting... good

Julie Hammer: (08:48) Agree must submit for next Plenary

eduardo rojas (bo): (08:51) regards from bolivia
