Avri Doria:historically they are still in the process of becoming part of ICANN. they are still somewhat outside while being inside.
Avri Doria:for example for most of their history they have not received any funding from ICANN, except for some in kind funding such as the space for their meetings.
Avri Doria:they are not subject to any oversight by the Board, though for the bast years they have had a joint work effort with the Board.
Avri Doria:i will only repeats to pros in repsonse to someone speaking of its cons.
Avri Doria:it does have an effect as it includes the process for its being woken up.
Avri Doria:WS2 and its modalties is very indefiniate. The Board has not agreed to CCWG contninuation. They wants it moved to ATRT &c.
Avri Doria:WS2 is a pipe dream.
Avri Doria:I dislike the langauge but as a compromise could live with it.
Avri Doria:the Board can refuse anything that the bylaws do not bind them to. and then they can interpret the bylaws as they please with on the the IRP able to tell them no.
Avri Doria:the only thing that will get the Board kicked out is a finacial issue that affects the big businesses of ICANN

Avri Doria:actually they are probably split betwee the free market and the regualted market as well.
Avri Doria:exactly. that is what some are pushing for. ICANN as the hand maiden of the industry.
