Olivier Crepin-Leblond:let Sébastien next
Terri Agnew:Olivier is back on call
Olivier Crepin-Leblond:thanks!
Alan Greenberg:@Tijani, Olivier, I understand that the question does not imply how we react, but we havea VERY fwe opportunities to send out message, and if we send one that is misunderstood, we ahave a problem.
Alan Greenberg:Tow Shopper!
Alan Greenberg:Oops Show Shopper
Alan Greenberg:I am more worried that the GNSO will introduce a 6-month process - Rome burning while Nero fiddles.
Eduardo Diaz:@Alan: IN that case CCs and Gs businesses will suffer which will equal to $$$
Eduardo Diaz:Is there is something really wrong with the IFO they will act accordnigly if it represnts loosing money
Sébastien:@Olivier can you give us for all the bodies created by cwg? And the N° of members?
Seun Ojedeji:I think the question for me is who decides to ask IFRT for an IFR...at the moment it seem its GNSO
Seun Ojedeji:The decision to call for an IFR (as a triggered event) is what is critical for me
Seun Ojedeji:i don't think GNSO should be the body to decide this
Seun Ojedeji:The decision needs to be made by the community
Leon Sanchez:The "community council" like structure
Seun Ojedeji:Nevertheless, if IFRT would have the powers to determine determine is GNSO request for an IFR should really happen...then i would be fine
Seun Ojedeji:edit: Nevertheless, if IFRT would have the powers to determine if GNSO request for an IFR should really happen...then i would be fine.
Seun Ojedeji:whats the essence of a liaison if its just observing ;-)
Sébastien:Maybe I can explaine why I am asking this question?
Alan Greenberg:@Seun, if you are talking about the CSC, a lisison has all righted except voting.
Terri Agnew:CCWG Accountability Workspace: https://community.icann.org/x/koU0Aw
Seun Ojedeji:if voting is part of CSC poceeding...is there any more important right to have than that? nevertheless i am not so worried about CSC. I am more worried about CSC escallation. We need to be sure things have gone so bad before an IFRT can be triggered
Seun Ojedeji:that decision should not be for the GNSO alone to make
Eduardo Diaz:I will be on audio only. I need to step away from the computer. at the moment
Olivier Crepin-Leblond:@Seun: the IFRT will perform an IANA Functions Review. I have the concern that if this is triggered by a GNSO & ccNSO sourced decision to undetake the Review, we are already starting on the footing that there should be a Separation --- or a tleast some in the GNOS will argue, as they are already arguing NOW that there should be a separation in any case....
Seun Ojedeji:Exactly my point Olivier
Seun Ojedeji:the CWG has paid so much attention on creating mechanism for moving IANA out of ICANN and that worries me a lot
Terri Agnew:the CCWG Accountability Draft Report has been translated into Arabic, Chinese, French, Portuguese, Russian, and Spanish. The translated documents are currently posted in the At-Large Wiki Workspace: https://community.icann.org/x/koU0Aw.
Olivier Crepin-Leblond:@Seun: I agree with you and I have cconcerns about how all of the committees and how all of the processes we have created could be used for capture of the IANA function. I hope that scenarios are going to look at this too, not only if ICANN goes rogue, but if a stakeholder or group of stakeholders has a hidden agenda
Jean-Jacques Subrenat:I'll have to leave this call in a couple of minutes. Goodbye all!
Loris Taylor:Thank you for a great informative call. I have to jump off now.
Cheryl Langdon-Orr:bye
Terri Agnew:good bye Jean-Jacques
Terri Agnew:goodbye Loris
Cheryl Langdon-Orr:my call has been dropped
Terri Agnew:@Cheryl, we are dialing back out to you
Cheryl Langdon-Orr:thx
Leon Sanchez:and my line dropped
Cheryl Langdon-Orr:we must all be taking turns
Terri Agnew:@Leon, calling you back
Leon Sanchez:Thanks Terri
Leon Sanchez:I am back in the phone bridge :-)
Olivier Crepin-Leblond:Just letting you know that the Interpreters have graciously agreed to extend another 10 minutes
Alan Greenberg:I have been told, and no one has disputed it, that the MoUs with RALOs are symbolic and have no real legal standing.
Alan Greenberg:@Sebastien, the issues is two-fold. COULD the Baord do something against the community. And WOULD they. That is really two different questions.
Olivier Crepin-Leblond:IMHO we need a lot more discussion on this issue of Legal Enforceability
Olivier Crepin-Leblond:this is really sticky
Alan Greenberg:We need to decide WHAT we are really willing to accept.
Cheryl Langdon-Orr:indeed we do
Sébastien:The MOU was sign by the CEO and the ALS founding members
Sébastien:19th of June
Seun Ojedeji:is there anything pressing?
Leon Sanchez:my call dropped again but then again we are almost finished
