10) Purpose and Goals:

We are looking to attract technology professionals and practitioners to join ICANN and become an At Large Structure. This event is attended by many engineers and technical professionals that are interested in how technology designed for humanitarian purposes can improve the lives of vulnerable communities. The theme of IHTC 2015 is “supporting communities toward resilience,” focusing on policies, practices, and technologies aimed at building resilient communities. The purpose of the trip is to engage with the IEEE Humanitarian community. Additionally we look to build awareness of NARALO, ICANN and Internet issues relevant to IEEE attendees. This conference will provide numerous outreach opportunities to introduce attendees to NARALO and to ICANN special programs.

11) Proposed Outcomes:• Distribution of NARALO and ICANN brochures • Extras Literature drop for the delegate bags • Volunteer to Provide Conference Workshop/Panel • NRARALO Member Bio and abstract on website • Engage with over 300+ potential ICANN members • Prospect new ALS for NARALO
12) Additional Information (optional):

Objectives of the conference include understanding critical community needs and issues such as disaster management, sustainable development, capacity building, and self-sufficiency. A particular focus will be on social innovation and collaborative solution design, with an emphasis on open source technology.

Also, Louis Houle  attended last year as a  CROPP  funded program  for IHT 2014 Montreal.  There is a precedence for our presence at this conference which is attended by over 300 attendees.
