Call for Volunteers to join the Working Group – introductory webinar on 10 & 11 December 2013

Summary

On 13 June 2013, the GNSO Council initiated a Policy Development Process (PDP) on the translation and transliteration of contact information. At its meeting on 20 November 2013, the GNSO Council adopted the Charter for the PDP Working, which is expected to address the following issues:

  1. Whether it is desirable to translate contact information to a single common language or transliterate contact information to a single common script.
  2. Who should decide which party(s) should bear the burden of translating contact information to a single common language or transliterating contact information to a single common script.

A call for volunteers has been launched to form the Working Group. In addition, an introductory webinar is being scheduled to provide an introduction to the issues under consideration and the WG requirements on 10 and 11 December 2013.
