ALAC and Regional Leadership  - 14 July 2013 - Durban - Session: Hot Topics -  On the definition of public interest

  • ATLAS II to consider the idea of the public interest as one of the themes for ATLAS II.
  • Olivier Crepin-Leblond to engage with other AC and SO Chairs about the possibility of cross community activity regarding the definition of public interest.
  • Olivier Crepin-Leblond to request ICANN Senior staff provide additional information to get appropriate clarification.
  • Designate individuals to watch the situation and alerting ALAC if further action is necessary in this field: Rinalia, Sala, Holly, Wolf volunteered to carry out this task.

ALAC and Regional Leadership  - 14 July 2013 - Durban - Session: Metrics Update 

  • Gisella Gruber to send a doodle to complete with CLO input to determine times for Metrics WG teleconferences.

  • Gisella Gruber to ensure the ALAC is prepared to capture the metrics from the time that the revised ROPs go live for initial reporting at the Singapore meeting.

At-Large Large Regulatory Issues

  • The RIWG will prepare a response to the EWG, addressing the promise of its development but also placing it in context of the current status of WHOIS.
  • Evan Leibovitch is to create a Statement which will be presented to the Tuesday ALAC meeting, possibly to be read at the ICANN Public Forum, which will indicate the ALAC's intention to produce a response that is to be considered as formal ALAC Advice.

 RALO Policy Development - and how they relate to ICANN

ALAC Chair asked how the RALOs are dealing with policy development. What are the most important issues for the RALOS? The responses are consolidated in the page Cross-RALO Policy Development Workspace.

  •  Matt Ashtiani to send the page to all the RALOs.   


     ALAC Executive Meeting and Regional Leaders Meeting with  the ASO Leadership

  • Gisella Gruber to create a calendar with all RIR's meetings. OCL to receive the information and forward it. 


 APRALO Monthly 17th July meeting


  • 1.       Siranush Vardanyan to ask all ALS to send the link and update their website. 
  • 2.    Each monthly call will include a presentation by a new ALS.
  • 3.      Satish Babu will be the first ALS to spotlight his presentation. 
  • 4.      Staff and APRALO to organize a Webinar on the outcome of the meeting Strategy WG and community to provide feedback. 
  • 5.      Holly Raiche to  draw people’s attention to the At large Policy Development page so ALS can become more active and start to say what they would like to focus on.

The ALAC is to discuss the NCSG meeting and the main points that were discussed during the joint meeting
