2023-04-05 AFRALO General Assembly Organizing Committee call 

  • AFRALO leaders  Seun Ojedeji , Abdeldjalil Bachar Bong and Aziz Hilali will coordinate the review of the Operating principles.
  • Abdeldjalil Bachar Bong  will send the names of some travelers to update the list to Claudia Ruiz.  Claudia Ruiz will update the GA travelers list, line 6 (someone else was nominated).
  •  The title “Generating a strong and sustained AFRALO voice within ICANN” was agreed by the OC.
  •  The OC agreed to organize pre-GA events such as Webinars. OC will coordinate the Webinars with staff.
  • Seun Ojedeji will add Alan Barrett to the Agenda as guest speaker.
  • The OC agreed to have a FINAL version of the GA Agenda by the end of May.
  •  At-Large staff will add numbers the AFRALO GA document.
  •  Silvia Vivanco will send the draft AFRALO GA call for comments to the OC for review.
  • The OC will send the document to the entire membership for comments from Monday May 8- 19.


2023 - 04-20 AFRALO General Assembly Organizing Committee call 

  • Once the Program is final and speakers are set,  Staff to send invitations to all the sessions of the GA.
  • Gisella Gruber to check with interpreters if there can be 2 hrs sessions and break requirements for interpreters
  • Seun Ojedeji to check on the document wiki page with AFRALO performance metrics
  • Aziz Hilali and Seun  will look at the Program adding timings with the goal to finalize it until April 27 
  • Michelle Desmyter  to set up the next call for April 27th.

2023-03-30 AFRALO General Assembly Organizing Committee Call

  •  Seun Ojedeji noted that any last travelers need to be completed tomorrow. 
  • Seun Ojedeji noted that all members of the AFRALO GA OC members, ALAC members and the NomCom Delegates should get travel slots if they are not current ALS representatives.
  • Seun Ojedeji, Aziz Hilali and Bukola Oronti and Raymond Selorm Mamattah are the members of the AFRALO GA Program Committee. Aziz Hilali will be the lead of the Program Committee. 
  • The AFRALO GA OC to determine if other GA committees are required. 
  • Claudia Ruiz to submit the final travel list to Travel Support on Friday, 31 March. 
  • Claudia Ruiz to note OC members early arrival (arrival early on the 23rd of July) and later departures (departure on 27 July)
  • Heidi Ullrich to send the final AFRALO GA travel list and the Action Items to the AFRALO GA members. 
  • Claudia Ruiz to create a mailing list for the AFRALO GA Travelers with the suggested name of "AFRALOGA2023". Claudia Ruiz to confirm name of the mailing list on the AFRALO GA Skype chat.
  • Michelle Desmyter to schedule the next AFRALO GA call on 13 April at 18:00 UTC.

AFRALO GA Organizing Committee call 

  • The GA  Objectives and themes doc: 1-4 items have been confirmed
  • Claudia Ruiz to add the following questions to the AFRALO General Assembly survey 
    - have you already attended a GA?
    - There should include a question on potential mentors and mentees
  • Silvia Vivanco  to share the previous GAs held by AFRALO in the past (location and dates)
  • Michelle Desmyter to schedule the next meeting for Thursday, 30 March, 18 UTC

2023- 02- 23 AFRALO GA Organizing Committee call 

  • Michelle Desmyter to set up the next call for Thursday, 02 March 18:00 UTC with FR interpretation
  • Seun Ojedeji and all members of the OC to review the survey and made edits directly into it adding FR version
  •  Seun Ojedeji  and OC to focus the Agenda of the next call on finalizing and approving the survey. Target to send survey is March 10 to be open till March 20.
  • Seun Ojedeji and OC to determine what subcommittees are needed. 
  • Seun Ojedeji and all to continue working on the theme and objectives of the GA.
