APRALO Vice Chair Positions

APRALO is currently seeking candidates for the two open Vice-Chair positions:

  • Vice-Chair position for a two year term (2010 - 2012)(position currently held by Les Allison)
  • Vice-Chair position for the remainder of the term of the position previously held by Mahmoud Lattouf (2009 - 2011)

In its email from April 5th, 2010 the APRALO Chair defined the following timeline for filling the two open Vice-Chair positions:

Election timetable:

1. Nominations Open : April 5th, 2010
2. Nominations Close : April 19th, 2010 at UTC 23:59
3. Nomination Acceptance Deadline: April 26th, 2010 at UTC 23:59
4. Voting Begins: April 26th, 2010 (changed from May, 3rd, 2010)
5. Voting Ends: May 3rd 2359 UTC (changed from May 10th, 2010)

Descriptions of Position:

According to paragraph 5.2. of the APRALO Operating Principles:

5.2 The vice-chairperson shall be selected for a period of two years from the first annual general meeting and shall assist and deputize for the Chairperson in the latter’s absence.

In addition to that, the APRALO Chair identified additional criteria in his email from April 5th, 2010:

Contrary to the past, the 2 Vice Chairs should be prepared to regularly travel to ICANN meetings. You will also be expected to accept responsibility for current ICANN consultations which will be divided by the chair and two vice chairs with the support of the Secretary. The ALAC meetings will also require APRALO presence which will be divided equally amongst the officers.
